Position Summary
Assists with all facets of men’s and women’s cross and men’s and women’s indoor/outdoor track and field including recruiting, organization and planning of practices, meet strategies and
monitoring academic progress.

Major Responsibilities
Understanding of, and adherence to, the Utica University Athletic Department philosophy, NCAA and Empire 8 rules and regulations
Recruit and retain prospective student-athletes giving them an opportunity to compete, and better themselves as athletes and individuals. This includes cross-country runners, throwers, jumpers, sprinters and all appropriate track and field student-athletes.
Assist with planning and running daily practices sessions to ensure student athletes are organized and prepared.
Provide leadership to ensure that student-athletes have a positive experience andassist with monitoring student-athletes’ academic success, providing direction when necessary.
Assist with managing equipment usage, order and maintain uniforms, hurdles, etc. – Assist Athletic Director with game scheduling, transportation, and work with Sports Information department to ensure all statistics and publications are accurate and updated.
Will be required to assist with the set-up and breakdown of all track and field events in the Hutton Dome.
Will be required to attend van training annually.
Responsible for working with supervisor and other team members to achieve successful results on all established individual and departmental goals and key performance indicators.
May perform other related duties as assigned.
Driving Responsibilities
Must maintain a clean driving record as defined by University insurance carrier guidelines. Motor vehicle record will be monitored regularly using NYS License Event Notification Service or License Monitor, Inc. for out of state licenses. Will be required to attend van training annually.

Supervises May oversee assigned work-study students
Education & Experience Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required.
3-5 years experience preferred
Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations
Minimum Skills/Abilities
Knowledge of Cross Country and Track and Field
Must be certified in first aid, CPR and AED.
Interpersonal communication skills
