Job Description

CCI has a Client who is seeking a qualified and Experienced Candidate to develop and implement a Design Workshop or series of Design Workshops using a human-centered design process to address complex issues necessary to transform the delivery of services and supports in the home visiting workforce across Alaska, Idaho, Oregon and Washington. The Design Workshop(s), will be led by the Candidate, who will research, propose and possibly test promising approaches to support home visiting professionals in their work with expectant families and families with young children 0-5 years of age who receive evidence-based home visiting services and who are currently experiencing domestic violence, mental health, and substance use issues, referred to as the Big 3. Through a human-centered design process, the Candidate shall identify products, processes and/or tools to help professionals for further development in Phase 2 of this project

Communication & Collaboration:

  • Collaborate and communicate with Region X Governance Committee (Alaska, Idaho, Oregon and Washington) to frame, plan and execute Phase 1 of the human-centered design process, which may include, but not limited to, weekly communication with the Big 3 subcommittee team lead and bi-weekly communication with the full team

  • Provide frequent and tailored communication with and between Client, home visiting workforce, Region X state team members.

  • Ensure communication and collaboration with allied professionals working in the Big 3, such as domestic violence advocates and organizations, mental health systems administrators and practitioners, and substance use and behavioral health partners.

  • Participation in meetings with federal funders and other partners, which may include travel to one national meeting or conference, likely in Washington DC and include travel throughout the region (Alaska, Idaho, Oregon, Washington).

  • Coordinate and meet with Client’s contracted innovation grant evaluators who are responsible to conduct a formative evaluation of the innovations. Coordination will include development of a plan to evaluate the human-centered design and how the process engages and empowers the home visiting workforce. This a required grant activity.


  • Candidate should have at least five (5) years of experience in human centered design or comparable work in social innovation, with experience working under contract with organizations and significant experience working with government entities.

  • Candidate should provide work Samples related to previous work which shows required experience
