Position Summary: Responsible to prep, cook and present food served using established production procedures and systems, while maintaining safety and sanitation standards.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Monitor product freshness and rotate out expired product based on a schedule ensuring products are labeled and dated as required by the state.

  2. Monitor coolers, and freezers to ensure products are stored at the proper temperatures

  3. Prepare ingredients by following recipes. (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)

  4. Complete meal preparation by grilling, saut-ing, roasting, frying and broiling ingredients. Verify doneness and taste by cooking to proper internal temperature.-

  5. Assemble and refrigerate cold ingredients ensuring proper storage and holding temperatures

  6. Processes prepared foods for service using ovens, gas stoves, griddles, and broilers

  7. Assumes responsibility for quality, food safety/sanitation and timeliness of products served.

  8. Control costs by adhering to recipes, portion controls, small batch cookery and controlling waste.

  9. Present meals by placing and arranging hot and cold elements using chafing dishes, steam tables, salad bars, plates, dishes, bowls and baskets.

  10. Keep equipment operating by following operating instructions.- Perform preventive and cleaning maintenance.

  11. Ensuring proper storage chemicals and knowledge of MSDS safety.

  12. Maintain sanitary kitchen by adhering to state and local sanitation, storage and refrigeration requirements and codes.

  13. Regular and reliable attendance at the worksite and adhere to assigned schedule. this position is not a remote or telecommute position.

  14. Adhere to all company and departmental policies and procedures per the guidebook including all safety requirements including all safety guidelines.

  15. Utilize electronic time management system to input time, attendance and paid off request.

  16. Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.

  17. Perform other related duties as assigned by the management staff.

Education:- High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Experience:--

  1. Experience working in a fast-paced banquet environment.

  2. Former practical cooking experience and/or current culinary student.-

  3. Demonstrate flexible and have the ability to perform cross-functional duties.

  4. Good communication skills and be able to provide service to all customers.-

Preferred Experience: Three to five years culinary experience, preferred.

Computer Skills:- Basic end user skills.

Certificates & Licenses:- Must have a food handlers permit from Jackson County, or attend the class and receive the permit within one month of hire.
