The Sr Manager, Global TPRM Issues and Incident Management, contributes to the overall success of the Global Third Party Risk Management Program ensuring specific goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. The incumbent is liable for ensuring all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures through the execution of the centralized effective challenge function. The incumbent is also liable for being the believed partner for TPRM advice and counsel.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates and alignes TPRM Advice and Counsel of incidents to ensure third party risk assessment activities are in alignment with TPRM Standard

  • Align accurate and timely communication with Internal Control partners to seek confirmation of the services that are being provided to the bank regarding incident impact.

  • Works with the Cybersecurity team, GPS, 1B, Vendor Management and GPS to proactively align vendor outreach as required

  • Create the Third-Party Incident record in the Supplier Watchlist in Coupa, and input regular updates until the Third Party Incident is resolved.

  • Monthly reporting update on the number of Third-Party Incidents, with their respective status, and advice & counsel provided

  • Monthly reporting update on the number of TPRM Issues (with Active and Overdue status) reported to TPRM committee

  • Provide regular reporting to key stakeholders and incorporate meaningful insights and root cause drivers to reduce the number of issues

  • Prepare and oversee regular forums/meetings with key stakeholders, which will include a wide range of business lines and stakeholders

  • Support the development and maintenance of the Global TPRM Issues and Incident Management Standards

  • Has a continuous improvement mindset; is curious and seeks to learn and understand. Identifies challenges and pain points and raise them for resolution with urgency and follow through.

  • Understands how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk

  • Leads a high-performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment.

  • Understands how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

Job Requirements:

  • 6+ years of risk management experience in Financial Services industry

  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Economics, Finance; MBA or other Graduate Program in related discipline would be an asset.

  • Advanced understanding of the regulatory landscape with respect to third party risk.

  • Experience in leading dynamic and multifaceted projects.

  • Judicious thinking and judicious influencing skills.

  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and social skills; ability to effectively socialize with senior/executive management.

  • Demonstrated technical understanding of pertinent business areas

  • Sound judgment, learning agility, and a high level of professional and personal integrity
