What you'll be doing

As a member of CIBC’s team, the Senior Manager, Release Manager is a professional responsible for managing multiple fast-paced Releases end to end from requirement to deployment and warranty support for EAML Technology department. The role has the below responsibilities:

  • Coordinate release schedules and activities in collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Development, Quality Assurance, Product Management, and Operations.

  • Develop and maintain release plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk assessment.

  • Implement best practices for release management, including version control, change management, and release documentation.

  • Conduct release readiness reviews, ensuring that all necessary criteria are met before deployment.

  • Manage the deployment process, including release notes, communication plans, and post-deployment monitoring.

  • Continuously improve release processes through automation, optimization, and feedback loops.

  • Act as a liaison between technical teams and stakeholders, providing updates on release progress and resolving any issues or concerns.

  • Promote an efficient agile release management.

How you'll succeed

  • Relationship Management – Work closely with Technology and Business stakeholders to develop, test, and implement EAML Releases.

  • People Leadership – Lead and coach a high performing group team of individuals. Direct, motivate, and develop your team, maximizing their contributions and professional growth. Share knowledge and collaborate to come up with effective solutions to problems.

  • Agile Mindset – Track and analyze operating environment for EAML Releases and and implement agile practices for efficient delivery in a fast-paced and high performing environment. Work with Technology and Business partners to determine, negotiate, and manage releases to the agreed approaches.

Who you are

  • You can demonstrate - Experience in Release Management, preferably in Big Data Release Management.- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies, such as Agile and DevOps.- Familiarity with AML regulations and compliance requirements is highly desirable.- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and departments.- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality results.

  • You have a degree/diploma in Computer Science, Business, and/or a related field.
