What You'll Be Doing

You’ll be joining CIBC’s Data Protection Services Team within Financial Crimes & Enterprise Risk Technology (FC&ERT). As a Sr Consultant – Data Protection Services, you will contribute to building the data protection services solution that enables the enterprise to easily protect and work with confidential data. You’ll lead the planning and strategy for the technical design, building and integration with other applications.

How You'll Succeed

  • Design and Development - Responsible for the design and architecture of Data Protection Services on-prem and in Azure. Moreover, this role will work closely with applications that are consuming data protection services via different integrations (e.g., Java SDK, Restful API, Databricks, Database UDF, SFTP). Evaluate and propose proper integration patterns to strike the balance between security and usability.

  • Collaborate and Enable – Collaborate with various technology and business partners to enable their success through using the data protection services and capabilities that we build to empower them.

  • Strategy & Roadmap - Working closely with our Information Security partners, provide strategic thought leadership, building and regularly updating the roadmap related to Data Security domain. This includes working closely with Data Governance, Enterprise Architecture and other stakeholders to deliver and mature the data security services and capabilities that can be leveraged across the enterprise for protecting the bank's assets and digital crown jewels.

  • Strong Leadership - Act as tech lead, and interface with the project teams by providing subject matter expertise to ensure the project is on track to meet objectives. Support and mentor junior and intermediate team members by sharing knowledge, collaborating and effective problem solving.

  • You have solid knowledge of designing and building Java applications using Maven/OpenShift/AKS, and previous experience of designing and implementing various integrations between different applications on operating systems like Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
