What You’ll Be Doing

Reporting to the Director, Data Mesh Enablement, this role is a key to drive the One Enablement team vision. The successful incumbent will be responsible for further establishing the effective governance and management of the Data Mesh platform, building out an effective support framework to accelerate data driven insights, including processes and best practice documentation. The role is also to provide leadership and establish effective collaboration with key enablement teams across organization to accelerate speed to insight, and advance data and analytics maturity for our stakeholders no matter where they are in their analytics journey.

Success will be attained through partnering with various data intensive projects & initiatives as well as key business stakeholders. The Data Mesh Consultant will share subject matter expertise in CIBC processes, methodologies, data flows, system integrations, application dependencies, and Information Security and Data Governance and Management requirements.

How You’ll Succeed

  • Support Data Mesh Enablement Strategy - Support the roll-out of enterprise-wide data mesh enablement strategy including mobilization of One data enablement team in a hub and spoke model-conduct gap assessment of the current state, provide requirements and lead the work packages related to: acceleration of data access journey for enterprise users- mobilize stakeholders, define, document, and drive the rollout of process definition and operationalization of processes; data mesh product design operationalization requirements to enable data product ownership personae based access requirements within data mesh architecture to enable faster user journey. Accessibility and quality data mapping requirements to support data quality, lineage & controls needs. Be agile in projects and manage deliverables and key accountabilities by aligning with other project dependencies. Business and process requirements and managing deliverables against business partner expectations and time sensitive deadlines.

  • Support Data and Analytics Enablement Governance Framework - Establish and support foundational platform (tools, data/ metadata, access) governance and management requirements enabling consistent data consumption across enterprise data enablement platform in a Cloud environment, including: Develop, implement and manage processes and standards for team engagement; ensure clarity around processes; Identify key capabilities and development needs and provide requirements for enterprise wide best practices, including KRIs and help to create requirements documentation; Collaborate with other stakeholders and supporting teams to ensure clarity around policies, standards, and that there is process consistency and alignment with Enterprise standards.

  • Provide Oversight Function - Facilitate and support internal and external reviews by: supporting all internal and external audit and oversight reviews, and manage deliverables as a result of review findings; playing a critical role in driving increase efficiency, including process optimization and automation where practical; and establishing meaningful KPI tracking ensuring that a review and approval in Data and Analytics Impact assessment resulting from PFR and CIRA notifications.

  • Leadership - Provide leadership in designing data enablement rollout strategy by liaising with various lines of businesses, analytical groups, user base, technology, change management. Lead and partner with cross functional groups fostering BI/ Analytics research and innovation culture.

  • Focus on Innovation and Simplification - Strive for continual enhancement of enablement processes and contribute to platform and governance process simplification.

  • Relationship Management - Focus on building strong relationships with internal and external clients. Work collaboratively with teams across the bank to understand their data and analytical needs. Work with the teams to identify their data and analytical needs and provide appropriate support and recommendations.

  • You can demonstrate experience in working in an internal consulting team with a focus on enterprise enablement- data management, process engineering, business intelligence and managing large scale, complex projects and teams in the financial services industry. Exposure to data consumption is an asset with a focus on data requirements for enterprise wide initiatives.
