Specialist, Individual Annual Giving - 12 Month Full Time Contract - Philanthropy/Mass Marketing
BASIC FUNCTION:
The Specialist, Individual Annual Giving oversees MODC’s Mass, Mid Level and Monthly donors. Reporting to the National Director, this role is responsible for meeting annual revenue target and growing long term donor value. The Specialist will plan and execute strategies to acquire, cultivate and reactivate mass market donors. With the implementation of the Donor CRM, the Specialist will track and evaluate the performance and effectiveness of program activities with regular reports and analysis.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Strategic Planning
o Work with the National Director, Mass Marketing to create annual solicitation and engagement plans for individual donors with annual gifts of $1-$4,999, including:
Acquisition of new donors
Retention/Cultivation of current donors
Reactivation of lapsing and lapsed donors
o Develop and manage the annual revenue and expense budgets to ensure program efficiency
· Fundraising Management and Execution
o Mass (including Mid-Level) Donor
§ Determine target audience and selection criteria for each campaign/planned activity
Improve program performance by working with the agency to develop a robust testing strategy
§ Work with agency/service provider to manage list trading
o Monthly Donor
§ Execute all planned activities while fostering an environment of respect, accountability, motivation and productivity with all stakeholders
§ Work with managed service partner on tactics to minimize cancellation
§ Using the donor CRM, monitor and evaluate program results against set goals to optimize plans throughout the fiscal year
§ Act as the primary relationship manager to engage and support Monthly donors
o Work with Stewardship Manager and agency partner to create an effective onboarding experience to secure second gift and enhance retention rate
· Operations and Technology Solutions
o Gain in-depth knowledge of CRM data structure to ensure proper tracking of revenue and other KPIs
o Facilitate the transfer of data between agencies/vendors and the donor CRM
o Maintain records of engagement using the donor CRM
o Plan and execute the annual tax receipt, ensuring data accuracy and timely delivery
o Ensure adherence to all applicable policies, procedures, and protocols pertaining to recurring transactions.
o Ensure timely receipt and payment of vendor invoices to track against expense budget
· Other duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
· A minimum of 3 years of annual fund development and/or direct marketing experience working in a fundraising and/or not-for-profit environment
· Post secondary degree or diploma in Business, Fundraising, Marketing, Communications or related discipline, or acceptable combination of equivalent education and experience
· Proven success in developing and executing strategies for personalized cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship
· Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills required to interact with donors/supporters, as well as internal and external stakeholders from diverse backgrounds including staff, volunteers, clients and vendors
· Strong computer skills including proficiency using a CRM/donor database and Microsoft Office
· Demonstrated planning and analytical skills, with experience in developing fundraising targets, budgets and forecasts
· Ability to manage multiple priorities, tasks, and relationships in a fast-paced and collaborative environment
· Capable of exercising critical thinking and sound judgment, with a demonstrated ability to deal with sensitive or confidential matters with high degree of diplomacy, discretion and tact
· Demonstration of positivity, creativity, innovation and versatility
· Ability to work in teams or independently with minimal administrative support
· Flexibility to work evenings and weekends on occasion, and some travel may be required
