What You’ll Be Doing
The Solutions Architect is responsible for directing the delivery of architecture primarily to the Contact Center and other necessary business solutions to ensure consistency and alignment with business strategies and CIBC's enterprise-wide architecture. This role provides architectural leadership to solution delivery teams and CIBC business units by adopting CIBC’s architecture governance processes, practices, standards, and patterns, as well as leveraging your knowledge, skills, and experience. The role drives innovation across areas of responsibility, applying expert interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.
How You’ll Succeed
Relationship Management- Ability to work closely with project teams, executives, stakeholders, and business partners to provide thought leadership, and develop architecture solutions aligned with CIBC business objectives that will improve the business. Lead Solutions as an architect, within the assigned portfolio of projects, act as an internal consultant to ensure each solution meets the technical standards, guiding principles and architectural practices that CIBC employs to create an extraordinary client experience.
Leveraging technology- Ability to analyze project and/or technical risk, using available information, to support business recommendations, as well as business plans, identify and recommend opportunities for enhancement ensuring alignment. Assess work and information flows to identify and recommend appropriate solutions to complex application problems and determining the feasibility of a new products / systems by analyzing market/economic data, competitor practices, vendor viability and CIBC architectural fit. Develop the architecture artifact(s) based on enterprise strategies, standards, blueprints, and road maps.
Leadership- Lead a cross-functional team with diverse interests to assess the impact of CIBC technology initiatives and processes and make adjustments to internal operations to improve productivity across both digital and assisted channels. Flexibility to engage with business and technology teams within an Agile Operating Model. Meet the computing needs of the Personal and Small Business Banking business unit, including assessment and selection of technology and development of new/modified applications, as business needs change.
Communication & Agility- Communicate to senior management the risks and impacts associated with the subtitles of decisions. Respond to changing business priorities and needs by re-planning, re-prioritizing, re-allocating resources, etc. You should be be able to balance competing interests between the delivery constraints (time and money) with sustainable solutions designed for our modern consumers.
Who You Are
You are a seasoned technical leader with over 8 years of demonstrated experience in technical architecture, solutions design, and senior executive stakeholder management.
You can demonstrate experience in the IT environment (knowledge of the organization's total information technology landscape), IT architecture (understanding of the concepts, philosophies, and tools behind the design of applications, information, and underlying information technologies), and decision-making and critical thinking (knowledge of tools and techniques for effectively utilizing a broad range of factors, assumptions, frameworks, and perspectives when solving problems). Additionally, you have an understanding of the personal and small business banking environment, as well as knowledge of contact center products and services.
