There is an opportunity for this to be a full-time teleworking position. Work arrangements will be discussed with hiring managers per departmental guidelines.

Why is this role important?

We are seeking a highly skilled Solutions Architect to partake in the architectural design and evolution of our OTT platform. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing scalable, high-performance, and reliable systems.

More specifically, you will review platform-related requests and/or specifications based on the platform’s existing components, and recommend the best possible solutions to meet these requirements, using the most appropriate development technology while leveraging architected in-house frameworks and development standards.

What you will bring to our team:

You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and designers, to ensure our platform meets business goals and user needs. You will guide technology choices through both product and software development lifecycles, including platforms’ operations, keep their technology assets modern, document product architecture decisions, including diagrams, guidelines, and best practices, as well as maintaining that documentation, and design integration solutions with third-party services and platforms.

You will collaborate with products managers, and other stakeholders, to ensure we translate business requirements into the proper technical specifications.

Because of your expertise, junior team members will look up to you for mentorship and guidance, which makes you a key player in fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

We’re looking for candidates with the following:

  • Engineering or computer science degree, or the equivalent

  • Proven track record as an architect and software designer, with at least six (6) years’ development experience

  • Expertise in integrating various software packages

  • Deep knowledge in designing solutions involving multi-platforms clients - Browsers, Androids, iOS, SmartTVs, Media Players

  • Extensive experience with the .NET ecosystem an asset

  • Experience in designing solutions involving cloud applications, services and APIs provided by popular cloud providers – Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud

  • Proficiency with database development, including document-oriented databases

  • Excellent leadership, communication and presentation skills, with a keen sense for understanding the audience (both business and technical) and communicating at the right level of detail ∙ Ability to conceptualise, visualise, prototype and design applications ∙ Ability to demonstrate a high level of service delivery and understanding of business practice∙ Willingness and ability to learn new subject matter quickly

  • Demonstrated ability to be successful in a fast-moving environment

  • Proficient in French or English, both written and spoken. Proficiency in both languages is an asset

  • Experience in video streaming tools and technologies for Live Video Streaming and On-Demand video streaming – IPTV/OTT is an asset

  • Agile development experience is an asset
