Senior Manager - Operations Control, Reconciliations Optimization

Purpose:

Contributes to the overall success of GWO by leading and developing the appropriate model within the Operations Control Reconciliations Optimization team, ensuring individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed and delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Leads and drives a performance improvement-based culture applied to the ongoing analysis and identification of Reconciliations automated match criteria and through identification of upstream data contributors to reconciliations performance

  • Participates in cross-functional working committees to ensure adequate escalation and remediation of data contributing to reconciliations breaks

  • Leads and manages assigned projects and initiatives including project artifacts and reporting to executive leadership

  • Design and manage central office for adoption of new technology throughout organization- establishing governance and best-practices to produce efficiencies

  • Support numerous projects requiring Reconciliation engagement and participation

  • Develop a QC control function to measure the output of the function in order to increase efficiency

  • Review current cash reconciliation processes and data inputs. Analyze and implement opportunities for automation.

  • Document existing KPI/KRI metrics and determine future state, partnering with the business stakeholders, leadership, and the data team(s) to produce useful business intelligence

  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

  • Ensures all processes and rules are documented in accordance with established policies and procedures

  • Creates an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.

  • Performs other duties as required.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:

  • University degree in Finance, Business or related studies and a minimum of 5 years in Capital Markets and/or Project Management role

  • Excellent understanding of capital markets, and of operational processes, market practices and regulatory requirements pertaining to such.

  • Prior experience in a Change-oriented role within Operations of Technology

  • Excellent oral and written communication and conflict-management skills to support a wide variety of internal stakeholders, technology partners and external vendors

Work Arrangement: This position is currently a Hybrid role. Please note that this is subject to change based on the needs of the business.
