As Senior Manager, IB - SAM, you will join a team of senior managers providing strategic oversight of watchlist accounts and governance over the IB Watchlist and Problem Loan portfolio in Latin America and the Caribbean. The portfolio covered includes corporate & commercial accounts from a broad range of industries.

What will you do in this role?

• Work collaboratively with the local SAM banking units to formulate the best strategy for the bank and the borrower

• Provide support and oversight of IB SAM portfolios to local teams throughout Latin America and the Caribbean

• Provide coaching to the SAM Banking /Execution teams and engage in regular discussions to improve the quality, effectiveness and efficiency of the workout process and problem loan reporting

• Contributing to the minimization of losses by providing strategic guidance and advice of portfolio performance and regular dialogue with Banking / Execution teams;

• Monitoring the timely review of all applications and submissions;

• Providing clear guidance and governance frameworks to the local SAM and Credit units

• Confirming that the terms and conditions of authorizations are accurately documented;

• Ensuring the accuracy of data in the various databases and reports, including all requirements related to Basel and Problem Loan Data Capture;

• Partnering with the Directors, Vice Presidents and Senior Vice Presidents in the development of people through training and mentoring;

• Attending Senior Credit Committee to present and report on the watchlist and problem loan portfolio, as required;

• Overseeing and ensuring accuracy of portfolio reporting;

• Participating in quarter-end process to calculate and report on IFRS 9 provisions for performing and non-performing portfolios;

• Liaising with internal audit, banking regulators, and the external auditors;

What we’re looking for?

• Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred (full proficiency in English is required)

• Post-Secondary Education completed; MBA is an asset.

• 5+ years in corporate/commercial credit or relationship management functions.

• Understanding of legal recovery framework

• Strong credit acumen that enables individual to identify forward looking risks and adequately mitigate them

• Entrepreneurial mind set

• Strategic thinking and problem resolution skills

• Experience in syndicated loan deals, and/or experience in work-out and collections in stressed debt loans and assets in the commercial and corporate segments is an asset

• Financial Modelling knowledge is an asset

This position is located on King St W, Toronto. Some travel to Latin America and/or Caribbean will be required.
