Senior Manager, Fraud Business Intelligence

Establish and develop Tangerine Fraud Business Intelligence ‘BI’ capabilities to provide insights into operational results and support performance management. Ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed/delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures. As a product owner of a scrum team, you will be responsible for defining the product roadmap against business priorities, maximizing business values delivered by the team and continuously adjust/improve to release highly adopted BI functionalities and features. You will also play a key role in entire BI development life cycle and production support in steady state.

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

  • Acts as product owner for Tangerine Fraud BI project: define business priorities, manage user stories, identify sprint goals, forecast feature delivery timelines

  • Leads sprint review for product inspection to ensure acceptance criteria and sprint planning to deliver on project timelines

  • Develops and implements data pipelines on Azure Cloud to integrate Tangerine data into existing Fraud BI environment; adhering to BI development framework and standards

  • Analyze highly complex business rules and logic and translating those into technical design and implementations

  • Conducts code and data model review of each Tangerine BI releases and provides artefacts to support enterprise change management process

  • Owns Tangerine Fraud BI development standards and frameworks

  • Designs and develops automated Power BI reports for Tangerine Fraud Operations capturing KPIs, dashboards and scorecards to support business needs, ensuring consistency and accuracy of data in reporting

  • Engages with relative stakeholders to capture requirements in user stories, define MVP, story mapping, and negotiate timelines

  • Provides ad-hoc data, report and analysis that will enable intuitive and dynamic insights for decision-making

  • Engages internal reporting team, business stakeholders/external partners and/or functions to leverage and optimize on reporting synergies

  • Champions continuous improvement, implement innovative solutions to improve internal support SLA, reporting SLAs and deliver business values

  • Triages and assesses key issues related to data quality, BI reporting and escalate to appropriate levels and relevant stakeholders for resolutions where required

  • Foster an environment/culture that encourages productivity, innovation, process improvement, teamwork and a high level of professionalism

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have:

  • Post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related STEM discipline

  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in Business Intelligence/Data Warehousing

  • 2 years working with Azure Cloud – SQL MI, Data Factory, and Data Flow. Azure certification would be an asset

  • 3+ years acting in a technical lead capacity conducting code reviews and defining coding standards

  • 3+ years working with Azure DevOps pipeline and TFS code repository

  • 5+ years experience in a financial institution

  • Advanced knowledge of Cloud technologies (Azure, GCP, AWS)

  • Expert knowledge in data engineering and ETL development

  • Expert knowledge of SQL and dimensional data modelling

  • Skilled leader with experience leading teams focusing on coaching and execution of key business priorities

  • Strong prioritizing, planning, analytical, presentation, project management, and relationship building skills

  • Experience working within a scrum team and an agile environment

  • Strong verbal, written, presentation & communication skills
