What You’ll Be Doing

Reporting to the Director, Governance, Controls and Finance Operations, the Senior Manager, Finance Operations and Governance, will play a significant role in management of the relationship and deliverables related to CIBC’s external auditor, management of the Disclosure Committee process and support other Finance risk and governance deliverables, including other committees, projects or initiatives in Finance. You will work closely with the Finance Governance and Controls team, the Chief Accountants department, other Finance LOBs, CIBC’s internal and external auditors and senior executives across the Bank.

How You’ll Succeed

  • Relationship Building and Leadership - You are strong at building relationships and will manage key relationships with senior stakeholders and collaborate with business partners across the Bank and the external auditor. You can influence without authority, provide leadership and effectively manage deliverables from various stakeholders including peers and subject matter experts within and outside of Finance, by influencing, coaching, and negotiating. You demonstrate a strong ability to solve problems and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.

  • External Auditor - You have strong written communication skills and keen attention to detail and accuracy that will aid you when preparing materials for senior executives and committees; and when reviewing engagement letters, contracts, and other deliverables. You have critical thinking and continuous improvement mindset that will aid you in resolving issues and finding creative and efficient solutions. You can be an effective team leader and provide coaching and guidance to the manager on the team to successfully deliver on your collective accountabilities.

  • Disclosure Committee - You have strong organization, planning and time management skills to project manage the end to end deliverables for the Disclosure Committee meetings and ensure timely and quality delivery. You will coordinate with various subject matter experts within Finance to develop Disclosure Committee materials for Disclosure Committee members and Responsible Officers. You will facilitate the drafting of the Disclosure Committee agenda, quarterly/annual assertions, minutes, speaking notes, etc. You will oversee and manage the Disclosure Committee SharePoint site and ensure compliance with Records Management policy.

  • Other Committees, Governance and Initiatives - You will provide support to other Committees (i.e., Audit Committee, etc.) in Finance as required. You will support deliverables to key stakeholders, including SOX Office and Internal Audit that are within the Finance Governance, Controls and Operations mandate. You will support the simplification and automation initiatives for Finance Governance, Controls and Operations team and other Finance risk, governance and controls deliverables as required. You will participate in and manage other initiatives or projects in support of Finance that fall under the responsibility of Finance Governance, Controls and Operations.
