What your role will be...

Senior Manager, Analytics - Small Business Banking

Contributes to the overall success of the Small Business department in Canada by ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed and delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and

objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

The Senior Manager, Analytics is responsible for managing the small business data infrastructure, delivering MIS that enables multiple stakeholders in the Small Business team to monitor & manage the health of

the portfolio, business activities and results efficiently and effectively based on timely and value added reporting of business performance. The incumbent will leverage his/her subject matter expertise on data,

database architecture, application design, reporting and analytical tools to provide timely and accurate reporting by collaborating and providing solutions to multiple business partners.

What you will be doing...

  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.

  • Lead the oversight and ensure integrity of daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting of business results to senior management and other stakeholders within the Small Business team, including the Field.

  • Work closely with data warehouse and IT teams to manage development of analytical infrastructure comprising of databases, data infrastructure and analytical tools to provide sound infrastructure for reporting, portfolio management, analytics, segmentation and statistical modeling. Ensure data enhancement initiatives are appropriately prioritized and implemented on time and budget.

  • Manage Small Business (Source of Truth) database with existing SAS based DB2 data infrastructure to support current and ongoing business reporting – as well as collaborate with internal stakeholders for enable the teams Future Google Cloud Migration

  • Lead automation of reports on an ongoing basis to increase productivity, efficiency and accuracy of MIS ensuring business stakeholders are minimizing time spent on repetitive or manual tasks.

  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

  • Engage in high impact technology projects to provide subject matter expertise with respect to data architecture, systems integration and application design. Ensure integration of new advanced analytical tools into the analytical infrastructure.

  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.

What you need to succeed...

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Finance, Economics or Statistics

  • MBA (Finance or Marketing) or MMA (Master of Management Analytics) - preferred

  • 8+ years experience in Analytics and/or MIS/Reporting

  • 8+ years experience in programming, application development and/or data warehousing

  • Detailed experience in SQL, SAS, R or Python

  • Strong working knowledge of Database Management and ETL processes

  • Strong communication skills essential with clients, vendors and management

  • Strong prioritizing, planning, analytical, presentation, project management, people management and relationship building skills

Working Conditions

  • Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence. Limited travel domestically.
