What you'll be doing

As a Senior Manager, Access Quality Control Management (AQCM), you will be managing the Service Request Management (SRM) ‘s Quality Access Validation delivery to Governance and Control and to internal and external auditors (such as EY, PWC, KPMG). You have the accountability in managing the team in validating provisioned access, reinforce established controls that they are operationally effective for SOX/DCJ/HVA applications, provide oversight on the “Managed Access” requirements by compliance and regulatory teams. You will provide support on our key regulations with our governance partners on time-sensitive requests for audit artifacts, follow ups and queries. You will be engaged on key business initiatives, audit walkthroughs, collaborate on audit/risk consulting, conduct ongoing reviews for process improvements with our LOB stakeholders and internal teams and to ensure best practices are followed.

How you'll succeed

  • Exhibit a Strong Control management and Governance skills – You will exhibit and develop heightened awareness of the importance of a “managed access” and controls environment, with identification of operational risks and trends, and how to reinforce and sustain within the team. You will provide re-assurance that access validation is on par of the expectation by the auditors/risk/compliance.

  • Delivery mindset – You execute leadership and deliver on your mandate with key focus on timeliness and quality. You understand how you can support and deliver on a team’s regulatory requirements during condensed timelines. You understand RFI (Request for Information) during audit and control testing with level of right information, accuracy, and strict timelines.

  • Standards and Policy. You will demonstrate strong practical knowledge on standards and policies that are relevant to your role such as SC-63 (Logical Security), SC-181 (Information Classification and Protection), SC-4 (Application Security). You have in-depth understanding of the Elevated Access Risk, and on the principles of Access Management such as Least Privilege, Need To Know, and Segregation of Duties. You will participate in Standards Review, review changes, and provide impact assessment (if applicable)

  • Conflict Management . You will be a key player for escalation on resolving concerns related to risk and audit matters resulting into reasonable justification sufficing risk/audit matters.

  • Regulation and Compliance – You are well-familiar and have experience in regulatory work and how to suffice testing controls and requirements. This includes, but not limited to NIST, SOC1, SOX, OSFI (B10/B13), NYFDS, and PCI.

  • Analytical & Tech Savvy . You understand various tools (such as EGRC, MAP, ARS, ServiceNow), and high-valued applications (such as CLASS Mortgage Loans). You have strong knowledge of application Group provisioning such as COINS/ Transit/Profile/Operator change management and its fulfillment.

  • Relationship building – You will effectively interact and build relationships internal (other 1st Line of Defense teams, 2nd Line, and 3rd Line of Defense) and to external/vendors of CIBC. When control issues are identified, you effectively can support and collaborate with varying leaders, APP SMEs, business/technology application support. You bring an organized, proactive, and thoughtful approach to the operations, process focusing on driving risk-free, positive experiences for end users and employees.

  • Communication and interpersonal skills – Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills. Can communicate effectively with internal and external teams and different lines of business regarding the design/operational and effectiveness of controls.

  • Governance – Proactively contribute to access governance work impacting SRM as well as insights on management of access provisioning and validation processes.

  • Service Integration Consulting - You will be supporting collaboration with projects and other technology or business partners to create and execute access management for new/existing applications.
