Summary

Bell’s Enterprise Data Platforms and AI is a team focused on leading data transformation across BCE covering standard data practices, unified data platforms, and tools capabilities. The data strategy is being designed to enhance customer experiences, streamline operations, and drive innovation across the organization.

Along with building a unified data platform strategy across the entire company, the team is also responsible for creating and harnessing a AI practice to facilitate curating of AL-ML, GenAI use cases across the entire enterprise. We are looking for a Senior Data Architect, that will be responsible for owning the data warehouse/data lake/data lakehouse modernization strategy and roadmap, that would span on-prem and public cloud.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement data architectures: Lead the design, development, and implementation of data architectures that meet the evolving needs of the organization.

  • Lead data migration projects: Plan and execute data migration projects from legacy systems to cloud-based platforms.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders: Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their data needs and translate them into technical solutions.

  • Develop data models: Define and implement data models that align with business requirements and ensure data consistency and integrity.

  • Develop and maintain data pipelines: Design and implement data pipelines to ingest, process, and transform data from various sources.

  • Document the various Data capabilities roadmaps and solutions to achieve the long term vision, and communicate them effectively to all stakeholders in order to gain alignment and momentum

  • Contribute to the development of data best practices: Contribute to the development and implementation of best practices for data architecture and management.

  • Implement data security measures: Ensure the security and confidentiality of data by implementing appropriate security measures and protocols.

  • Stay abreast of industry trends: Continuously research and evaluate emerging technologies and trends in data architecture and cloud computing.

  • Mentor and guide team members: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior data architects and engineers.

Critical Qualifications

• Minimum of eight (8) years of information technology architecture experience, with at least 2 as a senior architect role

• Bachelor's degree in IT, software engineering or equivalent, or business.

• Ability to deal, on a daily basis, with senior management, peers and junior staff, both internally and externally, with business and professional skills in Information Technology.

• Ability to use a diplomatic approach to work with high level stakeholders and introduction of changes in the business

• Ability to communicate highly complex matters and adapt to the target audience and forum. Excellent oral, written and presentation skills to clearly express and communicate concepts, designs and proposals.

• Ability to deal with a broad range of legacy and next generation technologies with the skills to recognize and exploit the advantages of both.

• Ability to conceptualize and think abstractly, and work and manage in a technically complex environment.

• Extensive experience in the full solutions development cycle

• Experience in leading virtual teams

• Experience on Agile and DevOps (Continuous Integration/Deployment) methodologies

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Cloud hyperscaler GCP or AWS is an asset

  • Knowledge of TM Forum standard and CDMC framework

  • Agile development system

  • Experience with Enterprise Architecture frameworks like TOGAF
