CIBC Senior Consultant, Risk Appetite Reporting in Toronto, Ontario

What you'll be doing

Reporting to Director Risk Appetite Reporting, the incumbent will be responsible for monitoring and measuring of performance against CIBC’s Risk Appetite Statements (RASs) and associated processes, as well as, play an integral role in the annual review of RASs. As Senior Consultant, you will also prepare and contribute to Board and senior management reports, as well as other regular and ad-hoc assignments.

How you'll succeed

  • Collaborate- You’ll engage with other Risk groups and stakeholders across the bank to manage the RAS reporting processes to senior management and board-level committees – primarily the Global Risk Committee (GRC) and Risk Management Committee of the Board (RMC).

  • Relationship building – You’ll foster strong collaboration in partnership across Risk Management, SBUs and other functional groups to support our capability to effectively review and challenge proposals during the annual refresh of CIBC’s and its SBU/functions group RASs.

  • Attention to detail – Manage the monitoring of monthly and quarterly reporting of performance against risk appetite metrics and ensure proper controls and governance around the reporting process.

  • Strong communication – Effectively communicate, technical, analytical, conceptual and strategic information and ideas to stakeholders, both verbally and written.

Who you are

  • You can demonstrate experience with at least 5 years of experience in financial services, preferably in Risk Management, with a university degree in a related field .

  • You have a very high proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint and demonstrate strong writing and verbal communication skills.

  • Knowledge of internal systems and Bloomberg is an asset.

  • A masters degree, experience in working with macroeconomic data and reading bank’s financials would be additionally considered.
