What you’ll be doing
The purpose of this position is to support the Global Privacy Office mandate and core strategies, primarily in the area of Privacy Governance and Advisory & Consulting Services. This individual is a subject expert, specializing in regulatory compliance management, capable of developing relationships to monitor and support privacy governance across the organization.

How you’ll succeed
Regulatory Compliance Management - Conduct reviews of proposed or new privacy legislation changes where CIBC operates, including risks assessing new regulations and ensuring compliance with the Banks Regulatory Compliance Management of privacy regulations.
Privacy expertise - As the subject matter expert in privacy, you will provide privacy expertise and guidance to lines of businesses. You will be responsible for conducting privacy impact assessments for new initiatives/ revised programs, assessing risk and controls and developing privacy training and tools including privacy reference resources. You will have frequent collaboration with lines of business and will develop strong relationships across the organization.
Program review - Participate in the ongoing review of monitoring and oversight mechanisms to ensure privacy compliance to Confidentiality and Privacy. You will participate in reviewing CIBC’s privacy program and revising processes and policies to build a strong privacy program. You will gather, write, organize and interpret data/information to formulate appropriate conclusions and prepare communications and reports for senior members of the organization.
Cross-Functional relationship building - Work collaboratively with the OFs to ensure adequate execution of the RCM Program and work with Global Operational Risk Management (GORM) to provide challenge to the relevant Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs) and Change Initiative Risk Assessments (CIRAs).

You can demonstrate experience in managing regulatory and compliance requirements applicable to a Bank and experience in communicating regulatory changes and developing and implementing policies, guidelines or procedures to meet regulatory obligations. It’s an asset if you have minimum five years of working experience in compliance, risk management, legal, audit or other governance group in the financial services industry.

Delivery and Execution – Assisting the team with the review of risk backed by any necessary research to provide guidance and support as they work with the Line of Business recommending steps to manage and lower privacy risk.
You’re a certified professional . You hold a privacy designation with the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) or will acquire within the first year.
