CIBC Senior Business Analyst, Treasury Data Management in Toronto, Ontario

What You’ll be Doing

The Senior Business Analyst will support the Director of Treasury Data Management working on various ongoing regulatory projects, mainly initiatives related to Liquidity Risk and Asset & Liability Management, to ensure the integrity of captured data in Treasury owned applications.

The incumbent will ensure that systems will continue to be executed on a daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly basis after implementation. The role is responsible to elicit requirements from business teams, suggest changes/improvements, ensure seamless development and end-to-end testing through all cycles. Also will properly document all activities and in accordance with the enterprise change management guidelines.

How you'll succeed

  • Treasury Data Advisory, Solutions & Operations - Data & ETL enhancements/development: (i) Conduct user acceptance testing/quality assurance activities. & (ii) Recommend and assist in the development of new/enhanced reporting systems, policies, procedures and controls to meet user requirements, changing circumstances, and insufficiencies underlying the current processes. Modify established procedures and approaches to suit specific situations as per Treasury requirements. Provide value-added data analysis services to technology and business partners, specifically in Liquidity and Asset & Liability Management areas.

  • Capital/Global Markets and Retail Distribution upstream systems data - Maintain an appropriate internal control environment including adequate documentation of changes in upstream systems affecting treasury data warehouse. Work with internal and/or external business partners when required. Identify and implement areas of improvement within the data warehouse, develop and implement sound business processes, practices and technical solutions to address business issues/challenges where applicable under the SOX404 guidelines, based on required changes.

  • You have demonstrated experience. Industry-related experience in the areas of data warehousing, relational databases, end user (BI) reporting, ETL development and Capital Markets

  • You have a degree . Equivalent to University degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or Mathematics

  • Technical experience. Proficiency in SQL, MS Access, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with Quantitative Risk Management (QRM) system is beneficial. Strong problem solving, analytical, judgment and reporting capabilities. Demonstrated strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Stakeholder Management. Ability to establish and build working relationships and partnerships with the business as well as peers and wide variety of stakeholders (Finance, Risk Management, Technology, etc.) Self-started, able to work independency and take ownership. Ability to manage deadlines while balancing multiple complex priorities
