The Senior Analyst, Reporting & Insights, leads and oversees Business Analytics, Reporting and Insights for Scotia Securities Inc. (SSI). Working closely with multiple stakeholders of Scotia Securities Inc., the incumbent will deliver innovative reporting and analytics solutions.

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

  • Be responsible for development, maintenance and distribution of reports and dashboards focused on key performance measures and internal controls for SSI distribution channels, including but not limited to, mutual funds sales, assets under administration, tier 1 supervision, and compliance reporting

  • Design visually impactful and intuitive dashboards in Power BI, ensuring data models are efficient

  • Gather requirements and feedback from stakeholders and consistently improve and iterate on the current reporting stack

  • Work closely with data engineering teams to manage the development of analytical infrastructure/ data models that support accurate reporting and value-added business insights

  • Interact with multiple data sources, leverage the Enterprise Data Lake to extract and transform data into easy-to-understand reports for key stakeholders in Finance, Operations and Leadership

  • Provide business insights and develop presentation materials to support Senior Management and Executive Leadership

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Finance, Mathematics, Economics or Statistics

  • 3+ years of experience in Data Science / Analytics / Business Intelligence

  • 3+ years of experience in programming, data modeling & engineering

  • Advanced experience in SQL/Power BI/Visual Studio. Python/R knowledge is an asset

  • Strong knowledge and proficiency in data infrastructure management - data mining, profiling, modeling, cleansing, enriching as well as extract, transform, load (ETL) solutions and scripting

  • An ability to translate technical knowledge into business value

  • Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel

  • Effective technical and communication skills
