Is this role right for you?

As a S enior Analyst, Business Initiative & Analysis, you will contribute to the overall success of the Private Wealth Department ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in-compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.

In this role, you will:

  • Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader firm’s relationships, systems and knowledge.

  • Work with multiple stakeholders across JFL and Scotiabank to gather relevant data, perform financial analysis, structure, and create financial models to assess future state financial benefits / costs.

  • Manage multiple project streams including planning and scheduling resources, developing detailed project plans, monitoring progress against planned objectives, financial review, and securing consensus and cooperation from stakeholders and senior management.

  • Synthesize findings and present clear recommendations and implementation plans to ensure impactful project outcomes.

  • Create and maintain management reporting dashboards, assemble execute presentation materials, analyse large data sets, and conduct industry and competitor research

  • Understand how the firm’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

  • Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with JFL’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Do you have the skills and requirements that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Math, Engineering, Economics or Science

  • 2 - 3 years of work experience within financial services (including Wealth Management front office/head-office support roles), Corporate Finance, Management Consulting, and/or other fields with a demonstrated capacity to define, plan, implement and manage business initiatives

  • Excellent knowledge with MS Office including experience in analyzing complex data/financial modelling in Excel and developing PowerPoint presentations

  • Strong analytical and research skills including ability to adjust strategies and use new approaches
