Senior Analyst, Business Architecture

The Senior Analyst will contribute to the overall success of Global Risk Management (GRM) ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Support the development of end-to-end business architecture with target state business capabilities, operating models, and business strategy across GRM. Ensure all conducted activities comply with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Update and maintain business architecture assessment templates with accurate and complete input.

  • Analyze to identify impacts and insights to support business architecture assessments.

  • Develop and refine business architecture models, such as business capability maturity models and strategic roadmaps, following enterprise and industry standards.

  • Coordinate meetings across groups, document and recap meeting minutes, and manage action items.

  • Facilitate sessions with stakeholders for business process documentation and assessment clarification.

  • Build knowledge of business processes, business capabilities, and systems across GRM domains.

  • Identify opportunities for rationalization, transformation & simplification.

  • Analyze industry & market trends to find improvement opportunities.

  • Store all artifacts in a central business architecture repository.

  • Understand the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

  • Adaptable learner with a strong grasp of business and technology, open to new challenges

  • Clear communicator, proficient in Microsoft Office tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Visio) and presenting ideas

  • Experienced in modeling, capable of conceptualizing and visualizing high-level frameworks

  • 3+ years Analyst experience, preferably experience in Business Architecture or GRM

  • Business Architecture Certification is an asset
