The opportunity:

Our Knowledge to Action (KTA) team is responsible for ensuring March of Dimes Canada (MODC) is an organization that is focused on integrating evidence in the services and programs offered to people with disabilities and their families. We are looking for a highly skilled, inquisitive, and passionate Research Coordinator.

The position is responsible for coordinating knowledge mobilization activities and research for a multi-year research project examining digital skill development for youth living with disabilities. The aim of the research project is to create more inclusive employment opportunities as youth and young adults transition from school into the workplace.

The successful candidate will be expected to coordinate and support all aspects of remaining and end-of-project activities, such as completing data collection activities, supporting data and project management activities, facilitating committee and team meetings, generating content and knowledge products, writing reports, and coordinating a large end of project event.

The Research Coordinator will report to the National Manager, Research & Knowledge Mobilization, while working closely with other KTA team members on the project. It is expected that the successful candidate be well versed in knowledge mobilization practices and community-based research approaches. Equally as important, the candidate should be comfortable engaging and building relationships with various stakeholders including people living with disability, caregivers, community partners, researchers, administrators, frontline staff, etc.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and facilitate advisory committee and project team meetings

• Support data collection and analysis activities

• Create a variety of knowledge products that share study findings and activities in clear, accessible language and formats including reports, presentations, infographics, webpage posts, social media content, etc.

• Work with management to identify opportunities to mobilize project findings within organization

• Tailor knowledge products to engage diverse audiences

• Coordinate virtual national symposium event that will include a wide variety of stakeholders to discuss project findings and generate action plans

• Coordinate project timelines, deliverables, and administration, including writing regular project reports.

• Participate in ongoing internal and/or external continuing education activities.

• Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree in social sciences, disability studies, public policy, or research with 2+ years of appropriate work experience required, Master’s degree preferred.

• 2+ years’ experience in knowledge mobilization/translation, report writing, communications, and/or stakeholder engagement.

• Certification in knowledge mobilization is an asset.

• Event planning and/or experience coordinating large virtual events is an asset.

• 1-2 years’ experience conducting social, community and/or disabilities research in a work or academic environment.

• Project management or research administration experience.

• Must have strong interpersonal skills and be comfortable engaging a variety of stakeholders, including people with lived experience.

• Experience working with youth or people living with disabilities is an asset.

• Familiarity with disability issues is an asset.

• Demonstrated exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, works well in a demanding dynamic environment.

• High degree of initiative, dependability, and ability to work with little supervision.

• Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.

Important Details:

  • Work Location - Hybrid work arrangement (our office is located at 99 Duncan Mill Rd)

  • Contract Length - 10 month contract (June 2025 till March 2026)

  • Compensation - $51,744 – $62,093 for the duration of the contract
