Perform Payroll testing of assigned, new and changed systems that affect all Enterprise Technology business lines and changes in application systems to maintain system integrity in the Production environment.

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

Perform testing for assigned application systems by reviewing and evaluating requirements and design documentation, developing test strategies and comprehensive test documentation and reporting the progress of testing tasks to the Reporting Manager (Senior QAT SAP Payroll Specialist).The testing tasks include testing of the local SAP Payroll HR IT processes and related activities to ensure accuracy, quality and timeliness of HR input to support payroll processing for local employees and assignees.

  • Participate in meetings with stakeholders for requirements gathering, utilize and adopt the established test processes and procedures, test documents, templates and test tools in implementing all test activities.

  • Participate in the preparatory meetings, with stakeholders and with the reporting manager, where the Test Strategy, Test Plan, and the objectives of the test process for the year end are set.

  • Attend work sessions where design documents (EDD, User Stories etc.) are being developed to gain a full understanding of project scope and requirements being implemented to ensure they are adequately documented and represented to allow for their efficient translation into test materials (test scenarios, test cases).

Perform annual data testing and payroll auditing for HR team and other SOX control compliance requirements including year-end processes and participate in sessions to provide analysis and solutions to complex payroll issues and requirements.

Ensure the completion of assigned project, change request and related SAP testing activities as planned and in accordance with established standards, regulatory requirements and the Bank’s policies and procedures.

  • Plan and complete all assigned project and SAP related testing activities in accordance with established standards and in compliance with the Bank’s policies and procedures, and regulatory requirements.

  • Comply with and adopt all that laid down QAT test processes and procedures for all testing activities, and ensure that all the scenarios and expectations of the stakeholders are met and captured in testing; and document detailed test cases, test data; all approval and discussion emails and all test documents are created and stored in the HPQC.

  • Participate in the creation and documentation of procedures (reporting processes, training guides etc.) as it pertains to SAP Payroll.

  • Participate in testing activities for assigned application systems by reviewing and evaluating requirements and design documentation. Test activities include the creation and design of test documentation such as test scenarios, test cases, test scripts and test exit report.

  • Provide test plan, workday estimates, test scripts; create and design of UAT test plans, identify test data and scenarios to test and create the Test Exit Report and test documents detailing all test cases and scenarios validated during the course of the test execution.

Ensure the highest quality of service in the delivery of the initiatives and items which are promoted to the Production environment. Participate in the code implementation strategies review sessions to avoid risks during production delivery and review and appraise code changes during testing for implications and impacts on the system.

  • Keep a tab of the changes in the code and review all changes to determine if they are safe to promote by ascertaining what needs to be tested and develop test scenarios that you deem fit might contribute to the proper testing of the changes and mitigate risks to the system.

  • Develop, implement and document all testing activities, including test planning, test documentation, test execution, defect tracking and reporting (including follow-up and issue resolution) for SAP Payroll projects and initiatives.

Uphold all Internal Controls requirements in all test activities and tasks and implement efficiencies to optimize control processes. Handle year-end T4 processes with regards to HR inputs and data quality.

  • Comply with all control measures put in place to promote data integrity and adhere to the laid down procedures and processes. Employees’ personal information must not be sent through unsecure platforms such as email and their year end forms, personal details and compensation should not be viewed by another employee.

  • Provide expertise and payroll systems support for SAP. Troubleshoot when problems arise and contribute to their resolution in a hands-on manner when necessary.

  • Participate in the creation and documentation of procedures (reporting processes, training guides etc..) as it pertains to SAP Payroll.

Review planned activities for future initiatives, participate in forward-planning sessions and identify/ resolve conflicts between initiatives.

Analyze industry best practices to recommend improvements to methodology, test environments and workflow to promote an efficient and cost-effective testing process. Recommend changes to current processes to provide more effective use of the HRIS and take the lead as a project manager to implement these changes.

  • Analyze and report the need for system enhancements or customization where required.

  • Participate in project execution activities to support global expansion initiatives (Global HR transformation) which provide insights and ensure efficiency within SAP.

  • Provide support for data entry/maintenance activities into SAP Payroll system and assure data integrity of HR Information.

Participate in developing and documenting procedures to streamline processes and compliance with regulatory requirements. Create and maintain documentation of reporting processes and training guides as it pertains to SAP Payroll.

  • Assist and support the implementation and maintenance of various modules within SAP where applicable.

  • Serve as part of the primary liaison Team for SAP Payroll testing and auditing for HR team and other compliance requirements.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • Minimum 5+ years of hands on experience with SAP HR/HCM are required.

  • Payroll knowledge of wage and hour payroll practices is a must.

  • Experience in various Infotypes in PA30, personnel actions using PA40 and payroll process.

  • Ability to work with integration functionality between Payroll and Finance postings is required.

  • Minimum working experience of 5 years in testing.

  • Excellent knowledge of testing standards and methodologies.

  • Experience utilizing testing software such as HPALM and xRAY.

  • Experience in writing test documentation such as test plans, test scenarios, test cases and test result reports.

  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills required. (VLOOKUP, pivots, databases).

  • Intermediate SQL (Structured Query Language) skills.

  • Sound knowledge of Waterfall and Agile delivery framework.

  • Experience in SAP SuccessFactors is an asset.

  • Able to effectively communicate in a clear and succinct manner and must be able to interface and effectively influence at all organizational levels. Ability to handle conflict with confidence and integrity.

  • Strong organizational skills and analytical skills required.

  • Must be self-confident and self- motivated with ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
