We're looking for a mission-driven Program Assistant- Learning Academy who is passionate about creating more accessible, inclusive, and equitable communities across Canada where people with low vision have unlimited opportunities and can experience life free from barriers and discrimination.
Your Impact at CNIB
Assist in the planning, implementation and evaluation of all Learning Academy Programming (SCORE Scholars, Primary Explorers, Junior Explorers, Young Achievers).
Assist in the coordination of applications
Ability to live on campus as part of the SCORE Scholars program between July 16th and August 2, 2025 (Toronto, ON Location)
Assist with the recruitment and onboarding of Canada Summer Jobs candidates for summer 2025.
Research and arrange activities with third party organizations, recreational groups, and guest speakers.
Ensure participants have all necessary materials in preferred format.
Assist in the recruitment of volunteers for the SCORE Scholars Program and coordinate a volunteer orientation session as well as required materials.
Provide ongoing support to Learning Academy participants in a mentoring role.
Distribute and collect assignments from program participants.
Provide scheduled guests and speakers with Zoom links and relevant instructions.
Manage Zoom meetings including opening sessions, coordination of participants and monitoring of break out rooms as required.
Assist Guest Speakers with screen sharing and technical requirements.
· Assist in providing supervision for individuals participating in Learning Academy programs.
- Assist with file management, documentation and financial tracking in Concur, Centeresuite and Salesforce.
Who you are:
Education and Certifications
Degree or diploma in related field, or equivalent work experience.
Experience and Qualifications
Current or prospective related fields of study may include social services, health studies, child and youth studies, disability studies, administration, communications, technology, customer service, public relations or marketing.
Superior written and verbal communication skills.
Exceptional social media and computer skills, including high level knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Microsoft Teams and Zoom.
Strong attention to detail.
Strong interpersonal and diplomacy skills.
Demonstrates mature and sensitive nature when dealing with the needs of persons experiencing sight loss.
Must be able to work independently.
Must be able to travel independently during in-person programming via public transit or car (taxi, Uber etc.)
Personal or professional experience relating to blindness and sight loss is considered an asset.
Personal or professional experience working with assistive technology and/or accessible environments is considered an asset.
