As a Product Owner for Open Banking, your primary responsibility will be to drive the execution of priority outcomes for our Open Banking journey, enable internal teams, make value-based decisions through collaboration with business owners, & actively contribute to Scotiabank’s evolving Open Banking strategy.
The Product Owner will collaborate closely with lines of businesses including retail, small business, wealth, operations, data, risk management, and other stakeholders whose business model will be impacted and enabled through open banking capabilities. This individual will have strong knowledge of the open banking landscape globally, while ensuring a highly visible and transparent understanding of the value, priority and impact. They will lead the Open Banking prioritized outcomes through active alignment of work being shaped, accepted and ultimately delivered by the Open Banking team. Purpose
As a Senior Product Owner, your primary responsibility will be to enable delivery teams in making value-based decisions that are well aligned to the strategic vision of the Open Banking related initiatives.
The Product manager will collaborate closely with other Portfolio Leads, Product Owners, Product Teams and stakeholders from numerous lines of business across the enterprise in order to enable highly visual and transparent understanding of the value, priority, impact, and alignment of work being requested, accepted and ultimately delivered by the Enterprise Payments teams.
The Product manager will empower the team to make on-the-spot decisions to realize the defined business value; facilitate the negotiation of scope, remove business related impediments to delivering value and validate value realization.
What You’ll Do:
Direct the evaluation, approval, execution & value measuring of strategic capabilities to Lines of Business’ strategy objectives of increase revenue, customer growth, reduction in cost, and seamless experiences:
Supporting the definition of the enterprise open banking business model and strategy, including KPIs and benefits
Owns the Product Backlog of MVPs and maintains its priorities industry trends, internal strategy while ensuring top MVPs are execution ready.
Oversee the day-to-day development and execution of the product backlog, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality product increments.
Leads the development and ongoing tracking/reporting of business & delivery KPIs
Collaborates with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to shape strategies, define executable MVPs and customer oriented with specific tactics to address opportunities and barriers by:
Engaging with internal stakeholders and partners to seek understanding and exchange ideas; ensure communication is positioned in terms that are easy to understand by a diverse group & gain credibility and buy-in on directions.
Ensuring awareness of market and trends in the business environment; using research and available analysis to help inform ideas.
Drive change management efforts for related outcomes including:
Conducting needs analysis/analyzing recommended and/or implemented changes.
Preparing workflows/procedures to ensure new functions/processes are integrated into the operational environment.
Ensuring proper determination of workflow effort differences between existing and recommended processes
Serve as a facilitator and relationship-builder among key stakeholders with sometimes competing priorities.
What You'll Bring:
Self-starter possessing confidence and initiative; able to cope with changing and evolving priorities while identifying new opportunities
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and strategic negotiating skills
Knowledge of payments, industry trends and practices, innovative digital platforms, policies and procedures an asset
7 years experience in digital banking and digital product development
Product management expertise to enable the thorough understanding of products/services
A positive attitude combined with confidence to drive team priorities
Knowledge of the Bank's application systems and their relationships within the Bank is an asset
Experience working in an Agile environment is an asset
University Degree in engineering, computer science, or business (MBA an asset)
