Canadian Tire Product Owner, Ad Ops & Ad Products (Contract) in Toronto, Ontario

What you'll do

The Product Owner, Ad Ops & Ad Products, Triangle Retail Media (TRM), will be responsible for leading our current ad inventory delivery and augmentation on core platforms as well as developing new inventory to create unique, compelling experiences that benefit both our customers, and our advertising brand partners. TRM is Canadian Tire Corporation’s (CTC) rapidly scaling Retail Media Network Business across banners. Investing behind this business and scaling it over the next five years is a top strategic priority for CTC. As a member of the TRM team, you will work alongside groups of industry experts in a highly agile, entrepreneurial, and exciting environment. You will make an impact by:

  • Defining vision and strategies for our ad products, using domain expertise, internal and external best practices, identifying market opportunities, and building business cases

  • Partnering with TRM business teams (primarily Ad Ops and Ad Products) to lead development of solutions and options in support of their key roadmap initiatives and accompanying business requirements for ad serving and ad verification

  • Developing and enhancing our ad inventory on core and new platforms - you will manage product roadmaps, align business and technical needs, analyze customer and product data, turn customer insights into actionable initiatives, determine rollout strategy, and manage risks

  • Managing and tracking progress against detailed workplans, flagging risks/issues, and recommending mitigation options to meet business needs

  • Facilitating workshops between business and IT partners as required to achieve business results and/or resolving any misalignments through the feature development process

  • Leading and coordinating post development activities, such as demos, testing and communications for cross-functional teams

  • Building collaborative relationships with key partners across the enterprise by driving priorities aligned to business goals, communicating and prioritizing product roadmaps, and gaining buy-in from executive leadership

  • Managing and leading the team (Including the Scrum Master, delivery lead, etc.) during all phases of the process, by adhering to a structured Agile product management methodology and willing to ‘roll up sleeves,’ and working with the squad to move the product forward

What you bring

  • Degree in Engineering, Information Architecture, Digital Design, or a related discipline

  • 6-8 years of professional experience managing medium to large, complex projects using a disciplined approach to project management

  • Experience of digital ad-serving, ad operations and programmatic ads gained in an agency / publisher environment or similar

  • Strong knowledge of product management principles and have a set of tried & tested best practices

  • Demonstrated leadership skills with experience in new capability building and a good command of project management, process development, and creative problem solving

  • Hands on knowledge of Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, JIRA and Confluence with experience working in agile teams using agile methodologies

  • Excellent communication and networking skills, with the ability to engage, influence, inspire partners to drive collaboration and alignment and a genuine curiosity to grow understanding of projects

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, with a ‘design-thinking’ mindset continuously striving towards efficiency and smart user design

  • A strong mindset of ‘test and learn’, a bias for action, and willingness to take part in an accelerated and steep learning curve
