Microsoft Corporation Partner Development Manager Recruit in Toronto, Ontario

The Partner Development Manager - Recruit (PDM-R) plays a key role in Microsoft's partner engagement strategy within the GPS Organization. Our goal is to offer the most comprehensive, inclusive, and profitable partner network in the industry. GPS leads the effort in recruiting new partners, building solutions together, creating vibrant routes to market, and selling with impact to our joint customers.

As the GPS Americas PDM-R, you will be responsible for recruiting and managing partners for our Cloud Platforms across the United States. You will identify, qualify, engage, and drive strategic partnerships and solutions on Microsoft's Cloud Platforms. By bringing new partners and solutions on board, we aim to provide the right partner at the right time to address customer business challenges.

The PDM-R represents Microsoft to these partners, communicates our strategy, sells our vision, and guides partners on their digital transformation journey. The goal is to drive application development, long-term revenue, cloud consumption, and digital transformation through cloud applications leading to industry-based co-sell solutions.

Responsibilities

Partner Engagement:

  • Recruit new partners by identifying and engaging key decision-makers on opportunities to sell Microsoft products and services.

  • Convey the value of partnering with Microsoft over competitors throughout the selling and account management lifecycle.

  • Align Microsoft's value proposition and product offerings with the partner's business goals to sell partnership vision to decision-makers.

  • Identify market opportunities based on industry gaps and emerging trends, leveraging internal competitive intelligence.

  • Develop trusted-advisor relationships with partners to establish strategic alignment and drive growth.

  • Create and execute Strategic Partner Plans to secure commitment, grow partner business, and promote cloud consumption and digital transformation.

  • Recommend and tailor training to partners on relevant topics to enhance partner readiness.

Solution and Services Development:

  • Collaborate with partners to transform their plans and strategies around solutions and services.

  • Provide guidance on launching applications or other products, including monitoring and troubleshooting.

  • Work with technical teams to build solutions or services and demonstrate proof of concept (POC).

  • Utilize Microsoft's technical resources to evaluate partner products and services, aligning them to bring business value to the partner.

Sales Leadership:

  • Develop go-to-market and co-selling strategies using internal resources to meet Microsoft and partner sales goals.

  • Support partner readiness by creating marketing plans to generate customer sales through campaigns, incentives, and promotions.

  • Evaluate the managed partner portfolio to identify patterns, opportunities, and gaps, recommending existing products or new solutions for joint investment.

  • Analyze business metrics and performance data to ensure targets are met and identify areas for growth.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business Operations, Computer Science or a related field AND 5+ years experience in partner management, sales, business development, or partner channel development in the technology industry or related experience

  • OR equivalent experience.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Business Science, or an advanced degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) or a related field AND 8+ years experience in partner management, sales, business development, or partner channel development in the technology industry or related experience

  • OR equivalent experience.

Partner Development Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across Canada is CAD $102,300 - CAD $168,300 per year.
