The opportunity
Develop relationships with donors and steward them to higher levels of giving, ensuring the donors understand the mission, vision, and goals of March of Dimes Canada. In collaboration with the Senior Director and other senior managers, develop and oversee the strategy around the complete donor cycle, solidifying the support for March of Dimes Canada’s initiatives and managing the donor recognition for major gifts including those from individuals, corporations, and foundations.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement plans to support donor relations and best practices in stewardship.
Identify, evaluate, and take the necessary steps to bring donors and external stakeholders into a greater understanding of MODC’s vision.
Meet face-to-face and initiate telephone meetings with current and potential donors to discuss their giving interests and to connect them with opportunities to support MODC.
Gather information, conduct research, contextualize data and write compelling narratives to share with donors and community stakeholders in reports and letters.
Draft and facilitate donor gift agreements.
Ensure a high degree of accuracy, transparency, and completeness of information in ensuring donor gifts are recorded in the donor management system and appropriate appreciation and recognition ensues.
Produce standardized and customized reports for review and presentation.
Take the lead on assembling invitation lists; extend strategic invitations; elicit participation; collect RSVPs and ensure appropriate records for MODC events
Qualifications and experience
Bachelor’s degree or acceptable combination of equivalent education and experience.
Minimum three years of experience in a fundraising environment in a national organization and in a donor relations role.
Experience developing and implementing plans to support donor relations.
Experience meeting face-to-face and initiating telephone meetings with current and potential donors to discuss their giving interests.
Experience drafting and facilitating donor gift agreements.
Experience conceptualizing, organizing, and executing MODC and fundraising event activities.
Strong computer skills with demonstrated working knowledge of the MS Office Suite, Salesforce CRM, and databases.
Professional presentation, demeanor, and confidence; ability to establish credibility and trust with internal and external stakeholders.
Exceptional relationship management and customer service skills.
High level of attention to detail with superior organization and time-management skills.
Ability to prioritize the coordination of multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Occasionally required to work overtime on weekdays and weekends.

- Hybrid work arrangement - 2 days a week in office located in Toronto, Ontario
