Purpose of Job

The Manager, Learning Design and Delivery contributes to the overall success of Scotia Wealth Management and the Practice Excellence and Training Group within Client Solutions by providing facilitation, support and leadership of Wealth Management training programs, including the Wealth Management Associate Program (WMAP) and the Wealth Advisor Development Program (WADP) and the Advancing Client Relationships Program (ACRP). The incumbent collaborates with the Senior Managers of Learning Design and Delivery to facilitate and ensure the efficient delivery, tracking and follow up of Wealth Management training programs. These programs are designed to attract, retain, and develop wealth professionals across Scotia Wealth Management businesses.

Accountabilities:

  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.

  • Facilitates in person and online sessions and activities to implement learning curriculum while ensuring content is current and relevant.

  • Work closely with Senior Managers across the Practice Excellence and Training group to ensure the seamless management of all project plans, schedules and logistics associated with Wealth Management in-field training programs.

  • Develops learning aids, presentations, facilitator guides and collateral to meet presentation and learning objectives.

  • Develop and maintain strong communication/relationships with subject matter experts to collaborate on programs.

  • Support the planning and coordination of all exams, courses required by or related to mandated designations and professional accreditation for in-field roles across Wealth businesses.

  • Leads the coordination and execution of program communication strategies.

  • Works to identify and create efficiencies across programs and stays current with emerging learning and development trends

  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Education/Work Experience/Designations

  • The ideal candidate has an understanding of the wealth management industry and experience in supporting the delivery of wealth management solutions. Additional requirements include:

  • University or College degree;

  • At least 5 years of experience in Financial Services

  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills

  • Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Ability to work well in a team environment

  • Strong learning design and facilitation skills

  • High degree of initiative

It is preferable that the Manager, Learning Design and Delivery has:

  • Canadian Securities Course; and

  • Bilingual English/French (written and oral) an asset

  • Adult learning experience

  • Project management experience an asset

  • Solid knowledge of marketplace and competitive practices.
