Scotiabank’s Business Process Re-Engineering is a dynamic team focused on process excellence across the bank. The process re-engineering team provides a best-in-practice approach to drive productivity and efficiencies across the bank. The Manager, Business Process Re-Engineering is a team builder and problem solver by nature who can connect strategy and execution and establish process-oriented rigor in an organization. As a change agent and a leader, the Manager will bring thought leadership in business strategy and process management to effectively deliver operational innovation opportunities to transform Scotiabank. The successful candidate will be well-rounded, with the ability to define the right balance between structure and agility that enables Business Process Re-Engineering to run fast. A self-starter with a high degree of rigor, organization, and discipline to get things done.

  • You excel at using analytical and quantitative methods to assess, design and implement process optimization opportunities to better connect, streamline and simplify cross-functional operations.

  • You are eager to define meaningful business metrics to drive process effectiveness that delivers business results.

  • You can provide expert advice and guidance to management and staff and internal and external stakeholders about business process management, Lean Six Sigma (LSS) re: the identification, improvement, and sustainment of process improvement initiatives (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve & Control - DMAIC).

  • You will effectively ensure communication with and strategically influence middle management and executive leadership to adopt productivity improvements and champion change management.

  • You thrive on championing a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge, in supporting team objectives and personal development.

  • You contribute to a high-performance environment where employees invest wisely, take accountability, and work on the right things.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?

  • You have at least 3 years of relevant working experience, including cost reduction/productivity improvement expertise.

  • You can demonstrate previous experience with Lean methodology systems and tools, and small to medium scale change management initiatives.

  • You possess excellent (verbal/written) skills to connect with project, technical and business function stakeholders.

  • You are proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint to incorporate information visualization and data analysis.

  • You have completed a post-secondary education in business, information technology or in a related discipline.

  • Completion of a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification and/or PMP is an asset.
