The Manager, 1832 US Operations will lead and oversee all facets of operations for 1832 U.S. including supporting client facing advisors via the newly created Operations Hub. This role also contributes to the overall success of Canadian Wealth Management Operations (CWMO) by assuming broad responsibilities to support a key Global Wealth Management business while ensuring all activities conducted are compliant with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

  • Be responsible for managing all operational duties such as account opening/maintenance, fee setup/maintenance, and other tasks for accounts that are custodied with an external custodian, ensuring they are executed on time and with a high degree of accuracy

  • Act as a subject matter expert for wealth operation processes, including but not limited to, account transfers, client onboarding, cost basis, money transfers, reconciliations, and trade settlement

  • Act as first line support for 1832 U.S. Relationship Managers on general questions, procedures, and manage complex scenarios

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with various business lines and key stakeholders

  • Drive collaboration with business partners to resolve complex, multi-faceted problems

  • Direct change and play an active role in problem solving by liaising with Head Office Departments such as 1832 U.S. Compliance, PIC Regulatory Oversight, National Supervision, Sales Management, and Global Wealth Management Finance on questions or issues related to 1832 U.S. accounts and deliver solutions that are in-line with the goals of the business

  • Be responsible for solving issues with a sense of urgency while ensuring prompt escalations of all operational and support issues as required

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:

  • Experience in Wealth Management or Wealth Management Operations

  • Experience working with Wealth technology partners

  • Solid understanding of investment management business and custody services

  • Good knowledge on US investment regulatory environment

  • Proficient in MS Office

  • An ability to learn quickly and be adaptive to changing priorities and pace of work

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand various elements of operations, to define the problem and propose a solution

  • A keen attention to detail, the ability to handle high volumes, and be flexible in a constantly changing environment with conflicting priorities

  • Reactive and proactive contact focused on superior client service, industry regulations and product requirements

  • Solid judgement to ensure all operational and support issues are escalated when needed
