Global Transaction Banking (GTB) is a strategically important franchise that offers comprehensive transaction banking solutions on a global basis to Small Business, Commercial, Corporate and Multinational clients. GTB supports clients to manage their payments, collections, optimize cash conversion cycle and invest excess working capital.

The Supply Chain Finance sales team is responsible for supporting US and Canadian Corporate Banking clients with their global working capital solutions. The team structures complex receivables and payables financing programs for strategically important clients by leveraging the global footprint of Scotiabank. During your internship you will be a member of the Supply Chain Finance sales team within Global Transaction Banking (GTB) and support the sales activities of the team.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Provide support to the GTB Supply Chain Finance sales team with sales related activity including, but not limited to, credit analysis of corporate clients, creating client pitch material, reviewing facility agreements, and writing credit memos. by creating and maintaining analytical tools: Power BI / Excel reports.

  • Create / Maintain SCF analytical tools and reports using Power BI and Excel

  • Maintain the intake of Sales requests and action on their own when appropriate.

  • Create scheduled and ad-hoc reports/dashboards and provides ongoing support for various initiatives.

  • Assist the sales team with on-going projects and up coming initiatives.

  • You are currently enrolled in post-secondary education.

  • You have excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.

  • You are an enthusiastic self-starter with ability to prioritize and multi-task, working both independently and within a team environment.

  • You have great attention to detail, are proactive and responsive to short deadlines.

  • You are able to manage multiple concurrent projects.

  • You have a keen interest in or experience in cross border trade and international business.

  • You enjoy being involved in extracurricular activities such as conferences, clubs, competitions, and/or hackathons.

  • Exposure in, or experience with financial modelling and counterparty credit analysis would be considered an asset.
