This position is responsible for managing the strategic procurement of Knoll’s wood products. Individuals must create and foster engagements internal and external to Knoll to drive change in their area(s). Individuals should have a strong understanding of specific commodities and the effect of market / industry influences and changes
BS/BA Degree or equivalent experience
MBA or equivalent desirable
Industry Experience : 5 years or more procurement experience at a leadership level.
Strong skills in the following areas:
Quantitative & Qualitative Assessment
Communication (written & verbal)
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Strong industry knowledge of wood products and derivatives including particle board, high and low pressure laminate products, MDF, veneers, and edgebanding.
Develop Commodity Strategies to optimize quality, cost, and supply to support Knoll North American Office business goals.
Achieve stakeholder buy in to commodity strategy
Drive cross functional participation in major commodity projects
Develop a strategic supply base to support the commodity strategy objectives.
Effectively lead and/or support continuous improvement projects in support of Knoll production plants
Implements strategic plans to:
Select supply base including new product development, product changes and resourcing of suppliers
Negotiate and approve contractual agreements.
Manage supplier relationships including leading business reviews
Develop supplier performance including supplier metrics
Implement efficient fulfillment and supply processes
Develop annual financial savings Plan and measure performance to individual goals
Continuously generate cost savings ideas to support Plan
Utilize project management skills to achieve cost savings
Effectively communicate status of projects and commodity activities to key stakeholders
Preparation and presenting of monthly internal reporting metrics
Proficient in Microsoft Office software
