Major Responsibilities:

  • Ensures operation of security gates and passenger access

  • Ensures compound is secure, clear of hazards and debris, and meets all aspects of MARSEC protocol

  • Communicates delays and provides information to patrons as directed by Captain/mates/supervisors

  • Ensures assistance to patrons with accessibility needs

Key Qualifications:

Your application must describe your qualifications as they relate to:

  1. Experience in customer service delivery dealing directly with the public and/or staff. (In-person, phone, e-mail etc.)

  2. Minimum grade 12 education or equivalent combination of education & experience

You must also have:

  • Must be physically capable of performing required duties.

  • Ability to handle operation of security gates and passenger access.

  • Ability to keep work and passenger access areas free of hazards and debris.

  • Ability to meet all aspects of Marine Security (MARSEC) protocol and regulations.

  • Must be available to work weekends, holidays and shifts as assigned.

  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to deal courteously with the public and staff.

  • Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the provisions that apply to this work including WHMIS.

  • Must be able to work outdoors and in all weather conditions.
