What You’ll Be Doing
As a Director, Securitization & Structured Products Administration, you’ll work as part of the Securitization & Structured Products Administration Group (“SSPA”) and lead our Securitization Accounting team. The successful candidate will be responsible for all accounting related to our securitization conduits. Also responsible for internal management reporting and various other initiatives.
This is a challenging position that requires the applicant to operate effectively under pressure. Due to the constantly changing business environment and complex nature of these products, the applicant must be flexible, adaptable, willing to learn, open to changes and be able to work independently at times with minimal supervision.
The SSPA team currently employs approximately 20 staff across various functional groups that provide ongoing support for all aspects of CIBC’s securitization programs.

How You’ll Succeed
Leadership - You’ll lead an accounting team responsible for the preparation of accounting and financial statements for multiple securitization trusts.
Accounting & Controls - You’ll collaborate with accounting firms to conduct the annual audits of the trusts. You will manage existing processes and create new procedures for management and regulatory reporting related to our securitization business. Additionally, you will monitor and report on the revenue and expenses of the securitization business.
Relationship Management - You’ll develop and maintain robust relationships with securitization clients and the front office structuring team to ensure a comprehensive understanding of accounting and administrative requirements. You’ll facilitate timely and effective resolutions to any issues that may arise. Furthermore, you will collaborate with all functional groups within SSPA and actively participate as a team members.
Projects & Initiatives - You will engage in special projects as needed when departmental initiatives arise.
Who You Are
You have a degree in Business/Economics/Finance/Accounting and a CA or CPA is required.
You can demonstrate experience in capital calculations and reporting for securitization transactions is an asset. An understanding of Securitization, loan products (mortgages, auto loans/leases, credit card debt, lines of credit) interest rate derivatives and the accounting for these products is an asset.
