What You’ll Be Doing
Reporting to the Sr Director, Enterprise Physical Security, The Director, Physical Security Operations functions as an important member of the Corporate Security team as this position will be responsible for enhancing physical security capabilities across CIBC, including its new flagship headquarters, CIBC Square. The position carries the major responsibility for strengthening relationships with internal/external stakeholders, providing consulting support, optimizing security preparedness and response, overseeing day-to-day operational physical security initiatives to ensure the requirements of the program are met to effectively protect CIBC's people, assets and brand. The position will lead the design, maintenance and compliance of the overall enterprise physical access program and strategy, recognizing its importance in the management of risk in the environments in which CIBC operates. The position will contribute strongly to the strategy, management and cost effectiveness of the overall enterprise physical security program, recognizing the increasing importance of the management of risk in the environments in which CIBC operates.
How You’ll Succeed
Program Management – Management of physical security operations programs, standards and procedures to reduce risk to our employees and clients and to our physical, informational, financial, and intellectual property assets.Oversight and management of contracted physical security protection personnel and associated physical security operations strategies.
Program Development - Accountable for the development and establishment of various physical security standards and procedures across the enterprise. Develop and maintain a continuous improvement mechanism for existing programs and review and assess emerging trends and strategies for suitability.
Program Governance – Develop and lead a program to measure the effectiveness of various operational programs and initiatives and report on associated metrics. Implement and oversee a program to ensure associated documentation is maintained according to records retention policies. Developing governance and oversight strategies necessary to fulfill monitoring and reporting accountabilities for standards owned by the Physical Security Team.
Relationship Management - Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to support CIBC’s physical security efforts. This will include establishing lines of communication and a network of good professional relationships.
Vendor Management - Oversight and day-to-day management of contracted physical security service providers. Ensure vendor and product compliance with SLA/KPI’s.
Who You Are
You can demonstrate 5+ years of experience in the Corporate Security, Physical Security and/or Enterprise Security Risk Management field with an enterprise-wide or program management level mandate with preference for that experience to be within the financial services environment; Possession of a professional designation in the security field such as ones available from ASIS International (CPP, PSP) is strongly preferred.
