CIBC Director, Personal Lending Agile Operations and Business Effectiveness in Toronto, Ontario

What you’ll be doing

Reporting to the SVP, Personal Lending, you will be a key member of the leadership team, accountable for business operations including developing a multi-year roadmap, capacity planning, quarterly project planning, reporting, and managing the intake for all the work coming into the team. You will also support the SVP on strategic planning, executive communication, and presentations. Additional responsibilities include applying principles of Agile Business operations, continuous improvement, and change management You will demonstrate success by forging strong partnerships with stakeholders from product, project, technology, operations, risk, regulatory, and other groups across the enterprise.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

How you’ll succeed

  • Strategy & Planning – Apply competitive business insights, develop a multi-year roadmap, facilitate annual and quarterly planning, manage DOE (direct operating expense) including project spend, capacity planning, and resources, and introduce governance framework and other processes.

  • Agile Project Leadership – Lead the quarterly planning process including calibration and playback sessions with Scrum Masters, product partners, and project managers, manage intake flow, adhere to timelines, and ensure that initiative execution supports business goals, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Objectives and Key Results (OKRs).

  • People Leadership & Stakeholder Management – Build, develop, and lead a small team mobilizing toward an agile work model, and establish influential relationships with stakeholders at various levels across the organization.

  • Business Effectiveness – Support the SVP, Personal Lending, on executive communications, strategic planning, leadership reporting, resourcing, and other aspects of overall business effectiveness.

  • You have 5+ years of work experience collaborating with agile teams in an ambiguous and demanding environment, delivering medium and large-scale initiatives. You can demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of product management, agile project management practices, and principles to analyze and interpret complex concepts and apply them in creative ways.
