What Is the Opportunity?

Learning is essential to everything we do. At Travelers we identify, champion, and deliver optimal learning experiences, strategies, and solutions to meet short- and long-term business goals and objectives. As a Director, Learning Partner, you will serve as a strategic partner with business partners, subject matter experts, and learning teams to understand business goals to influence and drive learning solutions that support short and long-term business goals across lines of business, programs, and/or functions. You will lead the analysis, evaluation, and execution of learning strategies as it relates to programs and business goals including proactively reporting metrics to leadership. You will foster strong relationships with business partners and learning teams across multiple functions. This position will manage learning professionals.

What Will You Do?

  • The below duties are expectations either as an individual contributor or managing people:

  • Conduct learning needs analysis to determine need, scope, and required resources and propose learning tools, resources, and methodologies to deliver optimal solutions based on business needs.

  • Explore new technologies providing feedback on capabilities and make recommendations to improve processes.

  • Gather and synthesize information to implement recommendations, gain stakeholder support, and influence solutions.

  • Manage consistent learning processes, procedures, and standards with the ability to coach and develop team members.

  • Influence and implement actionable curriculum development which may include planning, designing, developing, and outlining solutions to learning objectives. Monitor, evaluate, analyze, and report on effectiveness of learning solutions.

  • Lead planning and execution of projects and resources to ensure projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget. Review learning team member projects.

  • Manage, negotiate, and maintain vendor contracts and relationships.

  • Recommend structured methodologies and lead change management activities.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree.

  • Previous management experience

  • Demonstrated experience measuring learning impact and correlating it to business outcomes.

  • Eight years of experience in respective business operation or other learning and development environment.

  • Demonstrated experience with writing and developing learning resources.

  • Thorough knowledge of learning technologies, support systems, and methodologies with the ability to identify and implement those technologies.

  • Thorough knowledge of the business/personal insurance industry, product lines and general understanding of enterprise processes, applications, and systems.

  • Experience leading and managing complex projects.

  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to develop team members in upskilling project management skills.

What is a Must Have?

  • Six years’ experience in a learning and development, training, design, or business-related field.
