What Is the Opportunity?
In this role, you act as a Human Resources (HR) business partner – or generalist – to an assigned group of clients. You will partner with the business and various HR center of excellence (COE) stakeholders to influence, develop, and execute business strategies in a way that aligns to both business and HR objectives. A key focus will be providing coaching and consultation to senior leaders, front-line managers, and employees to address and mitigate HR issues. You will also manage a small team of more junior HR staff.
What Will You Do?
Below is what you can expect your role to include:
Lead HR efforts for assigned client groups. Partner with senior management to develop and execute HR plans and strategies in support of business objectives and outcomes. Ensure that HR services are delivered efficiently and effectively.
Lead activities and strategies around compensation, talent acquisition, employee relations, succession planning, workforce planning, and organizational/leadership development for assigned client groups. Consult and collaborate with COE stakeholders in these disciplines.
Act as the first point of contact for employee concerns and issues, providing direct coaching to managers and employees and escalating matters as appropriate. Collaborate with managers and employees to creatively resolve issues.
Partner with HR and COE colleagues to enhance HR policies, practices, process, and programs as needed.
Lead annual compensation planning cycle for assigned client groups in a manner that supports our pay-for-performance philosophy.
Lead change management efforts, including facilitating and delivering training.
Identify and analyze trends (e.g. around turnover, hiring, retention, and productivity), and develop and execute on action plans.
Stay current on external HR trends and participate in industry/professional networks as appropriate.
In addition, as a manager of people, you will also be accountable for:
Establishing a strategic direction and vision for your team, department, and/or broader organization – and communicating it effectively to your team and other key stakeholders.
Setting, managing, and driving accountabilities for your direct reports and/or team.
Delegating and prioritizing work, ensuring that resources are appropriately allocated and optimized.
Building and leading a high-performing and engaged team. You will help define and select the talent we need for today and tomorrow, identify and nurture potential, and provide guidance, coaching, mentoring, and insight.
Leading in a participative, inclusive manner and leveraging differences.
Managing through change effectively, thoughtfully, and by “modeling the way.”
Perform other duties as assigned.
What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?
In addition, here are some other skills and experience that would make you a suitable candidate:
Bachelor’s degree in an HR field (e.g. Human Resources Management, Organizational Psychology)
7 years of work experience.
Prior experience in the insurance industry a plus.

What is a Must Have?
At a minimum, we are looking for someone with:
A Bachelor’s degree.
5 years of related work experience in an HR role.
Broad knowledge of all aspects of HR, including organization development, employee relations, performance management, compensation and talent acquisition.
