POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Globe and Mail is seeking a talented and experienced Digital Design Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in supporting our events business, including our three-year plan events and travel experiences. The successful candidate will be responsible for the digital development of websites and email templates, ensuring a seamless and engaging user experience. This is a 12 month contract role.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and maintain over 50 websites annually to support various events and travel experiences.

  • Create new website and email templates using platforms such as Squarespace, Campaigner, Pagebuilder, and Splashthat.org.

  • Ensure all websites are responsive and optimized for various devices and browsers.

  • Debug and troubleshoot issues to ensure smooth functionality and user experience.

  • Manage privacy requirements and cookies to ensure compliance with regulations.

  • Collaborate with the events team to understand project requirements and deliver high-quality digital solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven experience as a Front-End Developer, with a strong portfolio of websites and email templates.

  • Proficiency in HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.

  • Experience with website development platforms such as Squarespace, Campaigner, Pagebuilder, and Splashthat.org.

  • Strong understanding of responsive design principles and best practices.

  • Ability to debug and resolve technical issues efficiently.

  • Knowledge of privacy requirements and cookie management.

  • Proficiency in image editing software such as Photoshop or InDesign.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

VACCINATION POLICY:

All offers of employment with The Globe and Mail are conditional upon the candidate being Fully Vaccinated.
