KPMG Consultant - Cyber Security Strategy & Governance in Toronto, Ontario

Our Cyber Security Services team in Toronto is looking for a professional like you with the skills and drive to make a real difference. A career within our Cybersecurity Services, will provide you with the opportunity to help our clients implement an effective cybersecurity program that protects against threats, propels transformation, and drives growth. As companies pivot toward a digital business model, exponentially more data is generated and shared among organizations, partners and customers. We play an integral role in helping our clients ensure they are protected by developing transformation strategies focused on security, efficiently integrate and manage new or existing technology systems to deliver continuous operational improvements and increase their cybersecurity investment, and detect, respond, and remediate threats.

What you will do

The successful candidate will be involved in the delivery of the following IT audit and consulting related services:

  • Develop Cybersecurity strategies, visions and action plans

  • Elaborate Cybersecurity Governance frameworks

  • Assist organizations in the governance aspects of their cyber security (such as designing lines of defense)

  • Design and/or evaluate Cybersecurity controls based on widely used standards and frameworks such as ISI, PCI, NIST and COBIT

  • Design and/or evaluate Cybersecurity Management Systems

  • Develop Cybersecurity policies, guidelines and procedures

  • Elaborate Risk assessment methodologies and apply these methodologies within various contexts.

  • Audit Cybersecurity controls with regards to best practices

  • Participate in Privacy protection frameworks

  • Develop Cyber Security metrics

  • Benchmark Cybersecurity products and services.

  • Design optimal Cybersecurity controls on both technical and management layers.

  • Support the delivery of advisory projects to help ensure business and IT risks are adequately addressed.

  • Assist in the development of engagement and project plans.

  • Participate in presentations to new / potential / existing clients.

  • Assist in sales and marketing effortsCreate and deliver presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to clients

What you bring to the role

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science degree preferred, or similar IT related technical training.

  • MBA or master’s degrees are an asset.

  • Aspiration to pursue further relevant education such as a CISA, CISM, CISSP, CIA, or other designations and technical IT skills as part of a continuous professional education program.

  • Relevant experience in IT audit or assessing IT or system risk would be beneficial, but not required.

  • Good knowledge of various industry sectors is an asset

  • Experience in consulting/various industry sectors is an asset

  • Highly motivated, committed, self-starter who can prioritize work and be flexible to cope with changing priorities.

  • Demonstrated ability to learn and succeed in a fast-paced environment.

  • Attention to detail and good organization and analytical skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in FRENCH and ability to collaborate effectively both with clients and

  • Strong understanding of business risks and audit risks.

  • Has a high degree of personal confidence, enthusiasm and drive.

  • Willingness and ability to travel both within Canada and internationally.

  • A mindset client-orientated and committed to high-quality and timely delivery in order to consistently meet deadlines.

  • Familiar with ISO 27001, ISO 27002, ISO 27005, ISO 19011 and NIST standards.
