What you’ll be doing

As a member of our Conference Centre team, you will be responsible for supporting a variety of events for the CIBC Square Conference Centre, including liaising with the various business units to maximize efficiencies in the business and providing a seamless, consistent approach to events.

As a Conference Services Manager, you will foster key relationships with clients and manage logistical coordination, sharing best practices. This role ensures client satisfaction by managing the end-to-end event process, from initial inquiries to post-event follow-ups, with an adherence to consistent standards and processes associated with working alongside multiple stakeholders and partners across CIBC.

The ideal candidate will be the trusted advisor, partner and expert on Conference Services. They will have a passion for hospitality, strong organizational skills and a keen attention to detail, while delivering exceptional experiences for our clients by focusing on top-tier service and unique event customization.

How you’ll succeed

  • Event Planning and Coordination –This role will collaborate with clients to understand event needs for both hybrid and live events. You will develop tailored event plans, and manage all logistical details including room set-up, staging & A/V requirements, food and beverage and special requests. The Conference Services Manager will also manage budgets and financial reconciliation, and utilize event management systems and software (e.g., EMS, Social Tables) to streamline event operations and enhance client experience.

  • Project Management –The individual in this role will be expected to manage multiple projects, on time and on budget, to the clients’ satisfaction. This includes managing external vendors as required to execute events and programs within scope and with consistency, as well as management and maintenance of all required data, following current procedures to have data updated regularly.

  • Event Onsite Management –The Conference Services Manager will be the main point of contact on matters for the event host on behalf of CIBC Square Conference Centre. This role will oversee events on the day of execution to ensure seamless operations and high-quality service, and will coordinate with the operations team to address any last minute changes or client needs. You will serve as a pro-active problem solver during events, swiftly managing any issues or challenges that may arise to maintain client satisfaction.

  • You can demonstrate 3-5 years of hospitality or retail industry experience and an undergraduate degree or college diploma in a related field.
