The Role
Contributes to the overall success of the Scotia Global Asset Management business in Canada ensuring specific individual Goals, Plans, Initiatives are executed and delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing Regulations, Internal Policies And Procedures.

Champions A Customer Focused Culture To Deepen Client Relationships And Leverage Broader Bank Relationships, Systems And Knowledge.
Implements Strategic Communications Plans And Tactics To Support The Requirements Of The Global Asset Management Team By:
Assisting In The Development And Execution Of Integrated Communications Plans;
Writing, Reviewing And Editing Communications For A Wide Variety Of Materials Including Memos, Scripts, Executives’ Remarks, Presentation Decks, Newsletters, Social Media, Articles, Briefing Documents, Financial Reporting, Press Releases, Among Others;
Managing The End-to-end Delivery Of Press Releases, Including: Drafting, Managing Approvals, Translation, And Distributing Over The Newswire; And
Distributing, Reporting And Tracking Efforts.
Prepares High-quality Communications Materials And Ensures A High-level Of Confidentiality Of Those Materials For Scotia Global Asset Management As Required By:
Delivering High-quality Draft Materials In Timely Manner For Review By Designated Approvers;
Supporting/reviewing The Translation Of All Materials As Required; And,
Supporting Issues Management And The Development Of Sensitive Materials With High-level Of Confidentiality.
Manages Business-wide Employee Events To Deliver Strategic Messaging And Enhance Employee Engagement:
Assisting In The Idea Generation, Development And Execution Of A Strategic Agenda For Events Relevant To The Interests Of A Diverse Audience, Including: Town Halls, Informal Leader Presentations, Etc. ;
Writing, Reviewing And Editing Necessary Communications, Including: Presentation Decks, Speaker Notes, Briefing Docs, Follow-up Material, Etc. ; And
Assisting In Event Management And Executive Coaching To Ensure Seamless Execution And Flow.
Contributes To The Effective Functioning Within And Beyond The Gam Communications Team By:
Contributing To One-on-one Touch Bases And Team Meetings;
Generating New Ideas And Approaches To Streamline Processes;
Actively Working To Establish Collaborative Systems/methods And Supporting The Creation And Adoption Of Communications Tools To Increase Productivity And Efficiency Across The Global Wealth Management Communications Team And More Broadly, Such As With Canadian Banking Communications, Enterprise Communications, Etc. ;
Building Trust And Effective Working Relationships With Internal Partners; And
Facilitating A Culture Of Open And Honest Communication Within The Team.
Understand How The Bank’s Risk Appetite And Risk Culture Should Be Considered In Day-to-day Activities And Decisions.
Actively Pursues Effective And Efficient Operations Of His/her Respective Areas In Accordance With Scotiabank’s Values, Its Code Of Conduct And The Global Sales Principles, While Ensuring The Adequacy, Adherence To And Effectiveness Of Day-to-day Business Controls To Meet Obligations With Respect To Operational, Compliance, Aml/atf/sanctions And Conduct Risk.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if you have:
Degree In Communications, Journalism, Bachelor Of Arts Or Equivalent
4-6 Years’ Experience In Corporate Communications, Financial Communications And/or Public Relations
Strong Written And Verbal Communication Skills With A Demonstrated Ability To Communicate And Drive Audience Engagement
Knowledge And Experience Communicating Effectively Via A Number Of Mediums, Including Print, Web, Scripting, Social, Etc.
A Keen Interest In The Asset Management Industry
Strong Project Management Skills
Good Interpersonal, Collaboration And Relationship Management Skills
Working Conditions
