Canadian Tire Business Analyst- Emerging Tech /Power User Program in Toronto, Ontario

What you'll do

The Business Analyst will be a part of the CTX team at Canadian Tire Corporation. He/she will support the design of Intelligent Automation solutions by analyzing business problems and processes and recommending scope for automation. The Business Analyst is responsible for research and analysis, using a data driven approach, leading to the definition of requirements and processes to assist in the development and deployment of automation.

In this role, you'll:

  • Work with the client/product owners and Project Manager to seek intelligent automation opportunities.

  • Determine current business processes and recommend suitability for intelligent automation.

  • Define the project’s scope, identify and categorize project stakeholders.

  • Identify data sources (internal and external) that will be required to address business problem

  • Propose solutions using data science models where applicable

  • Develop, communicate, and implement plans for defining requirements complete with timelines, approaches and deliverables.

  • Document in fine detail the current and future process (key strokes, mouse clicks etc.)

  • Facilitate requirements gathering sessions with diverse stakeholders.

  • Form a partnership with the business to understand and capture clear, concise and accurate requirements.

  • Build stakeholder trust by understanding their business concepts, issues, opportunities and language.

  • Convey requirements and design concepts with models such as gap analysis, UE cases and prototypes.

  • Create, refine and maintain user stories and associated deliverables to meet development and stakeholder needs.

  • Draft test plans and validate results by testing automated processes.

  • Build sufficient controls and metrics into the processes being automated.

  • Ensure performance requirements are met

  • Facilitate problem-solving discussions and general communication between the process owners and intelligent automation teams.

  • Provide support for project management, development and QA teams.

  • Contribute to a collaborative team environment by facilitating information sharing and team cooperation.

  • Build proficiency/knowledge of emerging Technology products.

What you bring

  • Education in Computer Science or similar is preferred.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Power Platform or other automation technologies is an asset.

  • A software professional with 3-5 years’ experience in software requirements analysis.

  • A quick learner with the ability to adapt to new and emerging technologies.

  • Curious about the emerging field of Process Engineering, Data Science, Robotic Process Automation, Cognitive Learning and Artificial Intelligence.

  • Driven by problems and challenges that require critical thinking.

  • Passionate about leveraging emerging technologies to simplify processes.

  • Fluent in technology and strong knowledge of project and Agile and DevOps methodologies.

  • Excellent presentation, facilitation, interviewing and workshop skills.

  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, communication (both written and verbal) and conflict-management skills.

  • Ability to multi-task and work on simultaneous projects under tight deadlines.

  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, overcome confusion and simplify complex situations.

  • Comfortable working with complex data with strong analytical and conceptual skills.

  • Experience leading and organizing meetings.

  • Knowledge and interest in industry best practices regarding requirements definition and management.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Visio).

  • An “out of the box” thinker.
