KPMG Billing Specialist, KDN Delivery Network in Toronto, Ontario

The Opportunity

As our Billing Specialist, you will be reporting to the Head of Finance for Advisory and Audit and responsible for the timely creation of invoices for new and existing clients, working with the business and collections team ensuring prompt payments from customers, and accurate cash application in our accounting system. You will work closely with the business monitoring timely timesheet approvals, monthly WIP provision set up, clients’ rate set up and maintenance. You will also have the opportunity to improve and automate processes related to invoicing and client performance reporting through software systems as the business continues to grow.

What you will do

  • Invoice Creation: - Prepare and issue invoices to customers in a timely manner using the company’s accounting system and in agreement with company CRM (ServiceNow)

  • Billing Rates maintenance: Ensure accurate and timely set up and maintenance of clients rates in the accounting system. Maintain and update training documentation and recordings pertinent to administration of billing rate and special fee arrangement

  • Accounting Reconciliation: conduct the reconciliation of financial and non Financials KPI between accounting and CRM systems

  • Communication: Communicate with customers regarding billing inquiries and payment discrepancies

  • Reporting: Prepare regular operational reports for leadership, highlighting performance against KPIs and identifying areas for improvement

  • Record Maintenance: Maintain accurate and up-to-date employees records in Timesheet system, engagements, charge out rates in the accounting system. Regularly review and update operational procedures to reflect best practices and evolving business needs.

  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policy, accounting regulations and sales tax remittance requirements. Support implementation of best practices for CRM utilization, including data entry standards, reporting, user training, and ongoing support

  • Support: Assist the Head of Finance and Senior Manager FP&A with additional finance tasks; Participate in department projects as assigned.

What you bring to the role

  • Associate or Bachelors degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field.

  • Good experience in accounts receivable, billing, or a related field and prior work experience in finance / billing / project management function within the professional services industry is preferred

  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy and excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Effective communication and customer service skills, willingness and ability to learn and adopt new software tools to automate processes and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
