What you'll do

We are seeking an Associate Vice President of Ecommerce Merchandising for Canadian Tire to join our Digital Team. Blending the art and science of e-commerce merchandising, you will apply in-depth technical knowledge and offer your cross-functional partners a strategic viewpoint on-site execution, ensuring that the category experience aligns with the design intent of the product, bringing key product initiatives alive online through compelling storytelling. Keeping the customer experience at the center of every decision, you will be responsible for all site merchandising, from strategy and planning through to day-to-day execution. Ensure site storytelling, product placement, and site features are optimized in alignment with financial goals, category performance and seasonal strategies. This role requires an individual with demonstrated analytical abilities, a proven track record in e-commerce management/site merchandising strategy, an in-depth understanding of e-commerce KPIs and strong business acumen.

  • Responsible for driving site merchandising strategies to deliver banner strategies to achieve performance targets

  • Accountable for decisions that support the creation of a compelling path to purchase, through the entire conversion funnel, including homepage, promotional campaigns and landing pages, product listing pages, and product detail pages

  • Develop and manage merchandising and execution plans for program launches, promotions, and other brand initiatives

  • Leverage site analytics to monitor performance and continuously optimize discoverability (homepage, collections/product pages, navigation, promotions) to improve customer experience, maximize conversion and achieve performance targets

  • Responsible for leading executive level digital strategy and performance meetings

  • Partner with Digital Product, Marketing, Merchandising and Operations to improve decision support and incorporate customer feedback

  • Accountable to lead and develop the ecommerce merchandising team, hold team accountable for performance and continuously champion excellence

  • Responsible for continuously optimizing processes to improve efficiency and team output

What you bring

  • 8+ years of digital/e-commerce experience and site merchandising

  • 5+ years' experience as a People leader including talent development, coaching, and performance management

  • Previous experience building & leading digital merchandising strategy

  • Demonstrated experience in conversion rate optimization through web analytics, site operations, and web experimentation

  • Advanced skill using web analytics (GA/GA4 & Quantum Metrics) and A/B testing to optimize product and category performance and related customer behaviour

  • Experience with digital products to support authoring, digital catalogue, filters, search, and basket building (Hybris/Adobe/Bloomreach/Certona)

  • Ability to communicate design ideas clearly and effectively, and solutions to cross-functional partners

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Previous financial planning experience or P&L accountability is a strong asset

  • Exceptional communication skills to lead executive level meetings and engagement Adaptable and self-motivated. You thrive working in a dynamic fast-paced environment
