Canadian Tire Associate Category Business Manager in Toronto, Ontario

What You’ll Do

The Associate Category Business Manager for Canadian Tire's Gardening & Outdoor Tools category is engaged in the effective assortment, pricing and promotional strategy, and the implementation of the category plans, to effectively deliver and exceed the financial objectives related to the category.

  • Drive strategic initiatives and make bold decisions to support the growth and success of the live goods segment within the outdoor tools and gardening category.

  • Collaborate closely with the live goods buyer to understand market trends and customer needs, ensuring product offerings are aligned with consumer demands.

  • Manage the Profit & Loss (P&L) of the category by analyzing financial performance, identifying opportunities for growth, and implementing strategies to achieve business targets.

  • Coordinate efforts with various teams, including seasonal support managers, to drive results and ensure seamless operations.

  • Leverage creativity and problem-solving skills to navigate changes and overcome challenges, continuously improving the category’s product lines.

What You Bring

  • 2+ years of experience in Category Management or progressive growth in a relevant cross-functional role.

  • Proven ability to develop and execute business plans and initiatives to achieve financial performance and operational targets.

  • Strong business acumen with demonstrated expertise in retail marketing, consumer trends, and inventory management.

  • Absolute commitment to delivering consumer-focused initiatives, with superior innovation management skills.

  • Strong people management skills with a proven ability to develop others and foster team growth.

  • Superior leadership skills, a high sense of accountability, passion, and a track record of delivering results.

Hybrid

We value flexibility. We have adopted a hybrid work model whereby employees use a combination of working in office and virtually in service of outcomes. Each leader is empowered to decide what work is best achieved in person based on the unique needs of their team. This role is based out of our Toronto head office and the successful candidate can expect to work onsite a minimum of two days per week.
