What You’ll Be Doing

The SNS team supports the Structured Notes business with daily operational support surrounding the Calculation Agent function, enhanced reporting, and FP&A requirements. SNS’s accountabilities are multi-faceted (ranging from trade capture review to regulatory reporting to new initiatives delivery) and are continuously evolving to meet the requirements of an expanded business both in terms of volume and complexity of the products offered, and of an enhanced regulatory and reporting environment.

As an Associate, you will be mainly accountable for accurately calculating & validating the performance and payouts of structured notes as well as the delivery of new SNS initiatives impacting Trading and Finance, supporting the launch of new products, automation of current processes and FP&A activities.

This role requires a deep understanding of financial instruments, market dynamics, and complex mathematical models. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

How You’ll Succeed

  • Deliver on key initiatives - Actively support assigned project streams or responsibilities, providing SME, BA support, ensuring both internal projects and CIBC wide projects are partnered effectively, and executed upon.

  • Automation - Gather business requirements from impacted team members, brainstorm how to best deliver improvements and/or provide recommendations to enhance efficiencies, and capture that through proper documentation.

  • Support the launch of new products - Work closely with Trading and Structuring to support process for new structured notes products. Review the booking in source (valuation) system, and coordinate with Trading, Advisory, Trade Control, and DFE/Accounting teams to ensure completeness of bookings across various lines of business impacted, and accuracy of accounting parameters driving GL journal entries.

  • Support with FP&A activities and various ad-hoc requests - Provide timely and accurate analyses for business’s financial plans and any ad-hoc requests from business and Finance. Stay current on tools and information available to contribute to improving the effectiveness of data analysis and business initiatives

  • Develop and maintain relationships - Interact with Finance and Capital Markets senior management, as well as partner with other infrastructure groups on initiatives

Who You Are

  • You can demonstrate experience working with Capital Markets products in a previous role in Finance, Accounting or Product Control environment. It’s an asset if you have or are working towards a professional designation (CPA, CFA, FRM, MFin, etc.). Previous experience related to project management would be a plus .
